I think that is a GT6 with the roof chopped. Why not just buy a spitfire? The bonnet bulge is hiding a 2.0 straight 6 lump from the 2000. Particulary liking the Jag - reminds me of home...

Does this bear a resemblance to the Proton Jumbuck? These all hark back to the Talbot 100 "Wind" pickup which was Simca 1100 based & therefore very cool & trendy!

Toyota "Carib" - aka Corolla 4WD estate. Two tone paint and automatic transmission boost this one here. Shite factor 60

 

Former blood-box, chassis presumably Bedford CF. Ugly and uncommon. Shite factor 35 (45 if klaxons still operational)

 

Escort 3-door estate. Not as widespread as the 5-door. Practically worthless now but watch those prices rise as they disappear. Shite factor 20, plus 5 points for those nice limited edition white wheeltrims

 

Alfa 33 Cloverleaf. Evidently static for yonks, check out how green that tarmac is. Faded paint, zero resale value, probably won't ever drive again. Shite factor 40

 

Older Alfa. Don't know what it is. Looks to be race-prepped. Shite factor 25 and reducing

 

Original Sierra Cosworth. Looks careworn (often parked next to the seafront and hence frequently covered in salty water). Shite factor 10, halved if the owner cleans it and replaces that missing centre cap on the front rim

 

Forward Control L-R. Not painted in camo therefore Shite factor 40

 

BX Mk1 14E with original wheeltrims. In tidy daily driver condition. Shite factor 75

 

BX Mk1 16RS estate. Can't have been many of these built. Shite factor 78

 

505 GTD turbo estate. Earns points for ridiculous roofbox that the owner clearly couldn't be arsed to remove after the car's last trip abroad (probably 10 years ago). Shite factor 50

 

Red oxide Urvan, surfer dude owner clearly ran out of gloss black (or weed) after doing only one panel. Refreshing change from the jillions of Folksvagen boxes knocking around these shores. Shite factor 45

 

Not a Dolomite, apparently. Loses points for non-period registration mark (J64xxx wasn't reached till the early 1980s) and faux-retro plates. Claws back some crud-cred for having that shade of paint and those wheeltrims. Shite factor 55

 

Old Toymotor parked on the approach to the scrapyard. Unclear whether car was being repaired, or stripped before being dumped. Enormous tailpipe suggests (hopefully) the former. Non-trad plates mark it down. Shite factor 92

Have to say I like the Cosworth. It looks totally original down to a standard size exhaust and that has got to be rare!The paper clips in making is an extremely rare Series 5 Oxford estate. I hope it gets saved! But if its as rotten underneath as all teh external panels are its gonna be a big job

Time for another update. Excuse the quality on some of these, the cameraphone is definitely on its way out now and sacked me off while trying to get an impromptu snap of a BEIGE Y-REG AMBASSADOR that against all odds had somehow found its way to the island. Leics registration too.

My guess is that these are Bedford TK chassis, the first one must be a boat dolly nowadays but no idea what the second (retaining engine) is utilised for.

Randomly this ship was leaving Jersey with nothing but this ex London double decker for deck cargo, in the colours of a Guernsey radio station and presumably on its way to either France or the UK.

Nice selection The 'mystery' commercial is a Ford D series, and is a later model with the facelift style cab, which would date from about 1978-1982, the D series was replaced by the Cargo range in 1982 Love the Wolseley Land lobster

Wow a fellow shite enthusiast from the same fair isle, many of the crappers you've taken pics of are either cars that I've seen many times before or have actually driven, the old mk1 white Renault 5-my mate owns it and offered to swap it or sell it for next to nothing-6 years ago it looked mint but now its a bit...shite. the bronze Merc G-wagen we did some work on at the garage (smelt of shite I remember) and the green Renault 4 is just brilliantly shite to drive what with a weird column gearshift. The Citroen Visa is owned by a local mechanic who is well known locally for hillclimbing his mad 7 litre jag e-type but everytime I bump into him he's sat in his Visa-he really loves that thing-literally. My own shite consists of a 4.5 Rover SD1 (still classed as shite as every panel is either rotten or dented) a near minty SD1 2600 (shite because its not a vee eight) and a clean BMW e28 525i (the last two need to go!) I shall post up some pics of some more of Jersey's Jewels in honour of your fine work-and to any of the chaps on the mainland reading-I doubt you will ever see so much shite per square mile (vergee?) as you will in the shite capital of Jersey and the mileage is usually low too, I know of 4 abandoned BMW 6 series here amongst its many other hidden gems but the main problem is Jersey people never want to let go of any old shite the answer is always the same-"No its not for sale I'm going to restore it" type of thing but they never do. I weep I really do.
