My very rare Greeves 250 TWIN 2 stroke. Bought it restored but I did the paintwork on the tank after it sprang a leak (alloy tank, easy to weld... but not by me!)

Katana - Wow! - And a KH250 which I love for the engine burble. 8)

Feeling the love here! Had 3xKH250s and loved them to bits, it's a shame nostalgia has meant the price of them is out of reach now. Does anyone think having a motorbike thread would be worthwhile? There seems to be a fair bit of love for two wheeled motorised shit on here!

Does a bear shit in the woods?

Wish I had some pics of my old blue S reg KH250 that I bought for £15 (or was it £10?) and sold for whopping profit several months later for £30!

This was back in 1982 or so....crystal balls and all that eh?

I was actually going to buy a Katana, back in 1985, when i was based in Germany with the Army.

There was a slight problem, whereby I managed to crash my mates Toyota Starlet, he was going on leave a month later and the repairs might not have been completed....so I said I'd rent him a car for his leave if it wasn't repaired in time.

Luckily his car was insured for any driver and the costs of the repairs (which were pretty extensive) were covered but I was still out several hundred quid at the time, which, was a lot of money in the mid 80's.

I then decided that it would be stupid to throw the money away on 3 weeks of car rental and decided I'd just buy a car (a 1983 Mitsubishi Mirage) instead, then he could take it home on leave to Scotland.

As it turned out, his car came back a couple of days before he was due to go on leave and I never bought a Katana! ;)

The following summer, I bought back my 1980 GT250X7 from the guy I'd sold it to in 1984 when I joined the army, not quite the same really but that's what happened :D

I'm sure I started a bikeshite thread a year ago.
