I can't help much but they aren't Hotchkiss as I have a set of those could be Austin or similar

Barn find, eh?   Adds £££s.  I suspected they were Ford Y Type but they were AFAIK 5 stud and what  you have appears to be 4.    Colour would be about right for the Ford...Any stampings/marks/numbers anywhere?

Nope, wire wheeled MGT/A/Bs all had one central spinner rather than studs.

I'm not an expert, but they don't look too dissimilar to the kind of aftermarket wheels seen on 1950s 'specials'. Perhaps Barrett can enlighten us further ?

A 1950's Raleigh pedal cycle made in Nottingham by Arthur Seaton?

Michelin surely suggests they originated on a French car? Obviously they're pre-war, and I can tell you they're not Austin Seven, as they had 'quick release' holes where you could simply slacken the wheel nuts, twist slightly and the wheel would come off.

wild guess - Rosengart (French Austin 7 derivative).  Wheel size is about right for Austin 7 although the hubs don't look correct still.....

Google says "Max Hering" was a wheel manufacturer in Ronneburg, Germany.

DRP stands for "Deutsches Reichspatent", so its a german wheel, maybe made under license from Michelin.

Question still, where does it fit?

common denominator - Austin 7

Rosengart built them in France under licence, BMW did so in Germany

Possible?

Hubs still don't look right unfortunately, wrong shape and the BMW Dixi still had the elongated stud holes. That was my first thought too.

BMW Dixi.

Michelin-Hering was the German branch of Michelin, and DRP (Deutsches Reichs-Patent) indicates they were made in pre-war Germany.

'02? 12 years old and it looks ancient, next to modern designs.
