Gr9 fail sheet for you all to admire

I found the hole, it doesn't look bad (please consider the fact that I am NOT a welder)

The emissions are likely to be due to the car having an OMG speedy stainless steel 3" exhaust system

The whole cv joint and gearbox leakage is probably driveshaft related

You wiped out the vehicle registration mark on the Mot sheet but left it on the Emissions sheet  :?

Dude I am just one crazy mofo living life on the edge!

HOLD ME BACK OR I MIGHT SOME MORE CRAZIES!

Today before the MOT I fitted a saxo mirror into my 306 ***WHAT AM I LIKE***

Oh and the car changes from a 306 to a 206 from MOT sheet to Emissions sheet. Jason Kirk haz done an error m8.

Posted

Jason Kirk indeed has! Shall I

Go back and say that I believe they have tested the wrong car?

It is a bit of a worry when a main dealer can't tell the difference between two of their own cars!!

Posted

If the test station had a sun dga2500 emission tester it would have passed

Posted

1. You need a cat or a  new cat.

2. A 306 usually doesn't have a seperate chassis,so cannot possibly have body mountings.

Also tell Mr Kirk to connect the rpm sensor when doing the emissions.

Main Stealer.???

Oh, and check yer exhaust ain't blowing

Posted

I'd rate it 8/10 with marks dropped for not having either worn brakes or a light bulb failure of any kind.

Posted

I didn't think cars actually failed mots on emissions. Is that a thing these days? I've never even had an emissions sheet with an mot I don't think. Is there an age cut off for emissions testing?

Posted

There is, but it's something like 1974. Over the years I've had brake test results and/or emissions results attached to various MOTs,

That only really affects Lambda readings.

I should really post up that 4 pager for the X-Type Jaaag. Would have been 5 pages if it hadn't ran out of petrol.

"Ye cannie change the laws eh VOSA, Jim..."

Wish I'd snapped the failure sheet from the vanilla breeze block as it was one of the more impressive I've had. This one gains marks for a comprehensive advisory list but not a podium place.

*Edited to add; As well as causing high Lambda readings, would an exhaust blow not have less CO2 as some of it is escaping?

I looked underneath and instead of a cat it has some fancy 2-1 tubing so it's definitely running cat less

Posted

So I jacked it up and had a look underneath

This is the gearbox leak, I'm presuming that this seal has failed so I have cleaned the white area with gunk so I can ascertain exactly where it's leaking from

No cat here!

So what did I do...

I bought two new tyres

I replaced both track rod ends

Bought an exhaust 2nd hand which ended up being derv

Bought correct exhaust 2nd hand and fitted it

Had welding done to big hole

Bought a 205

Replaced steering rack gaitor that was wrecked that they didn't notice

Bodged driveshaft gaitor with some tigerseal with a view to replace it when I have a bit more dough

Couldn't find play in roll bar

Clipped up all the wiring

So I put it in for another mot at a better garage, the exhaust fiasco really stumped me and the 10 day retest

And......

EPIC FAIL

Can I win 10000 shite points for spending a small fortune and it failing again on even more stuff?

I would like to thank peugeot for not noticing a leaky brake caliper

My mum for giving birth to my awesomeness

My dad for owning shite cars when I was growing up

My wife for saying "I told you old cars are shit"

My 205 for doing alnost 2000 trouble free miles

Don't use dough to fix a driveshaft gaitor- ask Mary Berry, she'll tell it's not up to the job.

I have.

For some pretty undangerous things.

Petrol cap rubber seal deteriorated ***DANGEROUS****

Fuck off.

What about salt dough?

Wouldn't risk it, the salt content will exacerbate your rust issues.

So far I have just looked at it

Cried a bit

Looked at it some more

Cried more

Then I went to work in the 205 of joy

Listened to that "I touch myself song"

Banana Phyllis leggings flannel

*finally has that break down my old boss said I was due*
