You have to ask? ;)

That looks ten times better than any of the gloop High&dry are churning out these days. That & the Stellar were two sharp looking cars, both Giugairo IIRC?

I'll shove this in the same thread. This Cordia was truly awesome. I love the dealer fitted option overload on this...

I love the way the headlights are slightly recessed on these. Nice detail...

That Pony is OFF THE SCALE, I love mine but its shite in comparison to the Mk1. I wonder if that one Joncedric had is still knocking about??

I saw a pic of that taken in someone's driveway not so long ago. I hope it is being looked after as that was a beauty, especially with under 10k on the clock. TBH, I now regret not grabbing that when I had the chance.

Also saw another pic recently of a two door one in the same colour. I think it was on a facebook group.

Ratdat you have won Autoshite this year with those photos

When I was a yoof and had a job delivering hotel supplies in Lahndan and the Soufeast I got to use a Pony just like that (same colour even!) when the company Hiace went in for a service. The garage doing the work was a great outfit - besides the Pony they had a few Crowns used as courtesy cars, while some of them were reserved for undertakers duties. Anyway - I was told I absolutely had to get the Pony back by 5PM and found my self tearing along some country lanes at the end of the day trying to meet the deadline. I had to blast past a very slow car (Camry I think) about five miles out from the garage, which then seemed to tail me quite closely. When I arrived at the garage just after 5, the Camry pulled in a short while after me. The driver got out and asked me what the hell I was doing driving one of his cars like a lunatic - yep, it was the garage owner.

Anyway - he was a decent sort and accepted my explanation with a bit of a scowl and said no more.

A few years later I had to help load my poor old grandad into their undertakers Crown Estate the day he popped his clogs. Talk about a bitter-sweet experience!

A Crown Estate is one hell of a car to have your last journey in though

Yeah - I tried not to look too excited when the hearse turned up.

There's a 'barn find' Stellar on YouTube which surfaced in Holland a few years ago - I wonder where it is now?

I believe the same owner of the MK1 Pony pictured above owns this Stellar as well. He has several Pony's.

The orange one being the best of them all.

As original as it probably gets.

Certainly more original than mine!

Rewinding slightly and going off topic, on that Facebook link MrRWD has posted there's two Mk3 Cortinas which are made by Hyundai?! What's the story there then?.

Before Hyundai built their own cars, they built Cortinas under license from Ford. That's why there's a lot of Ford DNA in the Stellar and even in the Pony to a lesser degree.

Posted

That vagally rings a bell, where they still sold as Ford Cortinas or as something else then?.

Posted

I've seen pics of them with Hyundai badges and ford badges so not sure really.

Posted

The Stellar was basically an updated Cortina. They all use 4x108 bolt patterns for a reason (Pony included).

Not sure if it's original, but most likely...

Hyundai Cortina.

People say, the Front Grill and Bumper are a bit different, and they liked it.

Holy Guacamole, imagine owning that, its beyond my wildest dreams man

This entire thread has fried my head. That Pony is bloody miserable but lovely at the same time, and I'm rather liking the Hyundai Cortina pictured there.

Posted

I think that is now the Autoshite Holy Grail, someone needs to find one and buy one!

The Hyundai Cortina goes back further than the MK3 Cortina:
