Italiashite Stanford Hall. Real life Argenta spotted...

I went down to Autoitalia at Stanford Hall today. Took the Mk1 Panda and caught up with a few people I know, so a good day in all.

I took a few pictures and then my camera batteries died. I did manage to take a few snaps of stuff that will be of interest here...

Car of the show this for me...It's a 1983 RHD Fiat Argenta Volumex. The Volumex wasn't available in the UK, so when the series 2 Argenta was produced Fiat UK requested a RHD version for evaluation...this is it...but in the end the UK didn't get the series 2, as Fiat UK had so many series 1 Argentas left, that by the time they'd got rid of them, the Croma was introduced...

Wow, some lovely motors there. May have just had a few crises...

Arses. I'd have gone to this if I had known it was on!

Fiat 128 and orange Sud for me. Lush.

Bloody hell! I looked this show up a fortnight ago and thought I had already missed it!! Been to this once before and it was absolutley class. GR9 work vin!

Fuckety fuck  -  I clean forgot that this was on. Missed it last year as well GRRR

I went last year in the x1/9; it was very busy. What was it like attendance wise as your pics don't look too crowded?

Being picked up for work in 3 minutes. now i've got to change my pants.

That's some fine cars you snapped there. They all look immaculate!

Do only perfect cars attend or are they the only ones allowed on the show ground?

Was the public area full of the rusty stuff or is it now a case of what wasn't kept in perfect nick has rotted beyond use?

Most were in good nick, a few like the beige Panda were scruffy, but solid...Anything Italian and of any age and condition gets into the show/display area. They do have a concours area for unusual stuff though. It's a good show, although IMO it isn't what it used to be. In fact I personally prefer MITCAR as that changes venue every year...Rockingham Castle this year - 17th August.

Thanks Vin for sharing the pictures, you managed to picture some cars I didn't even see on the day as we arrived late due to being out the night before for my best friends 30th. An the Uno mk1 Breeze 2nd from last picture is ours for those who don't know. :-D

Agree the show not as good as it use to be though it's still a good day out an for us it a nice little run down the A5. Shame our M reg Tipo 1.4 ies  that we attended in last year on the day we brought it too, got wrote off 3 weeks ago by a Focus or we would have been in that as well. Maybe next year we have a replacement Tipo or possibly are tatty 2000 X reg Fiorino on the road if I ever get some money / time to do it.

Should hopefully be at the MITCAR event in August with the Uno all being well or perhaps something else!

This really makes me want an Italian car. Tipo 16v is currently high on the list. :)

And that blue Prisma was fan-bloody-lovely. Such a handsome car!

I know that Silver Trevi - had a chat with the owner one evening in the car park at canary wharf. He alternates his Trevi and a Gamma coupe as his commuter cars. Lovely bloke who appreciated someone stopping to compliment his car amongst a sea of Audis and Porsches

Another vote for the little blue 128. What a honey, I loved driving mine. In many ways it felt like the fastest car I'd ever driven at the time. It wasn't of course, but the engines in these things felt like racing powerplants.

Good to see another white hen GTie - last year it was up for sale.

So with the weldathon and mine that accounts for ALL THREE remaining GerTie's

Balls, that means I'm going to have to do a proper job (or the man who can will) on it
