Went to Tatton Park with Mother Ghosty for something to do - I would've gone on Saturday but I made a bloody mess of my face getting into the house on Friday night. Didn't take any photos of the boring MGBs et al, only stuff that I actually liked/looked like it was used.

Anyway:

I've been working there all weekend, I was running the Segway Rally in the field and wood at the entrance to the show. Some great stuff there!

 

Saddest sight I saw was a chap in his obviously 'replica' Ferrari 355 (read MR2), with his matching Ferrari hat and polo shirt.

I didn't go. but went to Knutsford in the XM to have the ABS light turned off and got stuck in a convoy of old shite leaving Tatton on the way home. To make matters worse the ABS light came back on. MUTHAFUKA!

1975 Coleman Milne Grosvenor.

Only 12 were ever made, one was written off when new, 5 are known to survive, the banger boys have chewed up 6 of them, the first one was raced in 1987.

For a while I owned the golden one that survives in Ireland.

That beige acclaim was probably the cleanest car at the show this weekend. Like you I prefer to see cars that look like they actually get used (mine was the mr2 covered in dirt and flies, if you saw it) but the acclaim was fantastic.

After snapping me in my Sunchaser in Buxton a while ago I don't know if you're stalking me Ghosty but that's the Celica I drive to the local shows with it's owner Colin. He's 89 this year and poor eyesight has meant he hasn't driven for 4 years. I collect a friend of mine in my car and then pick the old boy and his car up. If you'd looked a bit further back on the stand you would have seen my Corolla in all it's metallic beige glory proudly displaying it's new Autoshite sticker. Surprisingly only one club member (or rather his wife) noticed the sticker and asked if it was the supplying dealer !!

 

One day i may get to meet you and say hello properly.

I didn't make it this weekend - but my LHD MG Maestro 1600 was there on one day both weekends last year, covered in flies and road muck having been to Cowley and back for Anniversary events just before both dates...

 

"Good to see your car used in anger!" was a regular comment (passers-by were all-but drooling over it) - that it is fairly well 'patinaed' is a bonus, as is the quadra-lingual digidash!

 

We'll be on the M&MOC/ACI combined stand on 17th August .

I've seen photos of that before, It certainly puts mine to shame!

I had to check to see if that was the same beige Acclaim as the one we saw at Uttoxeter in 2012, but it isn't. That one was literally perfect down to the smallest detail. It makes me very happy that there are multiple Acclaims being kept like this.
