I'm not denying that, but why was he getting a trophy for coming 21st? It must have been his worst ever Safari Result.

 

My unqualified assumption is, that every finisher got a trophy.

My kind of educated assumption is, that Joginder didn't get to grips with the Stroppe Mercury, which probably had lots of stockcar DNA, if you know what I mean.

 

We are taking about a man, who could win that shit with a bloody Mitusbishi Colt, for God's sake. But in order to make a stockcar go fast, you must forget all you

know about car driving and switch off most of your brain. His frustration is clearly evident in the photo.

He returned the following year, including his navigating brother, to clean sweep the whole shebang with a motherless OVLOV P544, of all things rotten.

That must have taken balls made from Swedish steel, if you ask me, which you don't. I'd be pissing blood after ten miles with a P544 in Africa.

 

But the main question remains: Didn't they still make sharp looking men's trousers back in 1964, or what?

Ah yes I remember that. To be dug up in 2000 and it seemed so far away at the time. Didn't it have to be moved at one point though, due to redevelopment?
