Sixty-five years ago, on the 16th of January, 1959, the first five GAZ-13 'Seagull' cars left the gates of the Gorki Automobile Plant. Their release was timed with the 21st Congress of the CPSU, which began its work in Moscow on the 27th of January, 1959. Delegates of the congress had to evaluate the quality of the new model. It passed.
The assembly of the first Seagull started at GAZ on the 12 th of December, 1958, the second on the 15th and the third on the 20th. Six cars were assembled by the end of December. The seventh car left the assembly workshop on the first day of the new year 1959. Towards the end of the work of the congress (the 5th of February 5, 1959)  25 GAZ-13s had been delivered.

Eighty-seven years ago, on the 18th of January 1937, the Stalin factory in Moscow began production of the  ZIS-101. In total, between 1937 and 1941, 8,752  ZIS-101s of various specifications were produced, including 675 of the upgraded of ZIS-101A.
