I can hear the massed  “bremer demer” engine sounds.

I shows how much of the Brazilian market VW had.

Not at all dangerous or unstable* and the land rover's braking* and power-to-weight ratio wouldn't be affected in the slightest. 8<o

stuart

Taken Sept 1953 at Crystal Palace.  Driver is Stuart Lewis-Evans aged 23, a good friend of Stirling Moss and showed comparable ability.  Sadly he died of his burns shortly after crashing at the Moroccan F1 GP five years later, driving for Vanwall alongside Moss.  His manager was another young fella named Bernard Ecclestone.

Vanwall's constructors' championship in '58 changed Grand Prix ...

Pole position 1-2-3 at Monza 1957

Lewis-Evans (20), Stirling Moss (18), Tony Brooks (22)

The level of dedication required to play moto-ball while 'smerking a tab' and wearing a suit is admirable, especially mounted on what looks like the period equivalent of a Puch Maxi.

On the other hand I don't rate the chances of success of either lass getting a decent shot stood on something as shoogly as a Mehari.

Stroud Green Road 1984

London 1984

That Datsun was worth more than the Lancia! How times have changed.

Coptic Street WC1 1985

I would love to see rundown areas like this in London nowadays, much more characterful than streets filled with pricey shops.
