Dear god help me.......

for I have taken on a project Dolomite Sprint.

When I say Project I actually mean rolling shell.

Am just off to beat myself stupid with a worn Daf vario belt.

Track day star I think.

I am scared, very scared.

So now all I have to do is:

Fix the scabby bits on the Amazon

Replace the cracked bumper on the green MGF and turn it into a track day car.

Remove the front bumper and get it painted, replace the snapped bonnet release cable on the red MGF and get it MOT'd.

Finish off and paint the Daf 66 Combi front panel and get it MOT'd.

Persuade matey to let me have the Bedford CF

Completely rebuild a Dolomite Sprint

Repeat a million times:

I am a stupid git

I am a stupid git

I am a stupid git

I am a stupid git

I am a stupid git

I am a stupid git

I am a stupid git

I am a stupid git

I am a stupid git

When you say "rolling shell", does it roll under it's own power or is it still man powered?

I bet it's a Dolomite bodyshell loosely attached to a bread trolley with three castor wheels one of which never points where the others are going.

Sounds like a perfectly sensible* purchase to me, Ken.

If you can't find a Sprint engine for reasonable money, you can always win Autoshite by installing a 948cc Herald engine !

No, this is a Vermillion Sprint that a mate bought 4 years ago with the intention of doing it up and so on. However, his green Dolly is taking preference and I expressed interest in the project one. I have had virtually every model of the small saloon apart from.......a Sprint.

This is at the moment a rolling shell, but it is complete - well as complete as a taken apart car can be. The bodywork needs attention but not a huge amount. It has replacement wings and 'nose' section. Everything is present and the engine was a decent one prior to removal. First course of action will be to clean up the bits that need attention. This is mostly the front floorpans which are a bit thin but there are sections with the car than can be transplanted. This is a big project, possibly the biggest I have ever done and will take me a couple of years I reckon. This will be a stripped down track day car so aesthetics will not be so important.

I don't have piccies at present but will do over the next few weeks. I reckon I must have finally lost the plot to take this one but whet the heck.

Not sure about those wing mirrors but the rest is pretty good!

I have an old BMW m30 3.5 that'd fit lovely into a dolly sprint-fuck off the purists and rejoice in 220bhp, 211 ft/lb torque and naff all mpg

You know you want to:)

Rejoice I would but I am lacking in the mechanical ability department and have to rely on others to fulfill that aspect of my life. Let's not forget that I only recently managed to sort out OMGHGF on my old 1296cc OHV Triumph Toledo. That was the most adventurous mechanical escapade to date. Bodywork..... no problem. Interiors...... no problem. Changing an exhaust....... no problem. Changing shock absorbers...... just wonderful. Engine transplant from a Beemer into a Sprint....... past the defibrillators nurse as Mr. PBK appears to have had a stress induced heart attack.

Sometimes being mechanically shit is a hinderance.

Basically i have the loom ecu engine and gearbox. All you need to do is whap it in (oo err!) And tack* the gearbox to the prop

Winning, until the diff sharts itself
