Mk3/4/5 cortina based starcraft. Simply awesome, there's a shitty looking one for sale round here with a diesel conversion for ultimate misery. Any idea of price?

Shitty looking, with a dizzle?  How much is a pint of Guinness these days?

All that's missing is a photograph including a grumpy old bloke in the back holding a saucepan

It's in great harwood eddy, £800 iirc with a sierra 1.8td lump in it.

Only 400 times its actual value then! :-D   Sounds totally dreadful, therefore ideal for here.

Brilliant !  thanks monza   :-P

That looks like the result of an Escort droopsnout having sex with a one of those six wheeled Rangies.

This is beyond all doubt the greatest motor vehicle in the history of the Universe.  If there were Ancient Greeks still around, Apollo would use this as his chariot to tow the Sun about.  Donald Campbell would have said fuck Bluebird and used this.   Steve McQueen would not have driven like such a pussy in Bullitt if he had had this.  Hitler would have won World War Two if he had used lots of these instead of shit Tiger tanks.   If the Queen had this, she could drive it to Putin's house and tell him to fuck right on off.   Is it the new Bluesmobile, or what?

There is one near me festering, at Annat, outside Corpach, near Fort William.

Deffo no tax or mot, been sat for a few years, i looked inside and it all seemed dry. And looked complete. Will find out what he is hoping for and any other info i can gather. I can store this for a short time off the road if that would help.

I wonder if you can fit cortina panels back onto them?

Weird you should say that, I thought the same. Not that I'd want to/be bothered to.

I looked at a rusty bit near the door handle. It is just cortina doors with plastic covers with holes cut out and existing cortina handles showing through

Forgive my ignorance, but if it's based on a Cortina, how did they do the six wheeled ones?

2 Cortina's?

Posted

Two trailer suspension units attached to an extended chassis. Apparently the extra wheels weren't even braked!

this is correct - the cab section is (topped and tailed) cortina in its entirety plonked onto a separate chassis iirc

recently i haz been mostly reading a selection of 70's hot car and kit car/kit car international magazines at bedtime
