Peugeot 106 diesel, MoT'd & Taxed £250

For sale!!!!!!

My trusty 106 1.5D, ZEST 2!!!!

I've owned this car for five years.  It has only let us down once, when the clutch failed.  Otherwise, it is very un-Peugeot in that it has been very dependable.

Good points-

* MoT until October 22nd 2014.

* Taxed until the end of the month

* Runs/ drives perfectly.  Honestly!!

* Genuine 60mpg over the last few years.

* Rear beam replaced a few years ago.

* All tyres legal, everything works.

* New clutch 5k ago.

* New radiator a few months back

* New (genuine) alternator last year

* Serviced by me every 6k without fail- it has receipts and service stamps.

* Cam belt/ rollers/ water pump 30k ago

* CD player/ tuner with aux-in lead.

It's clean inside and out.

Bad points-

* The lacquer is falling off it.  This is the reason for sale, the bonnet and roof have lacquer peel.  I've put up with it since I've owned the car, but now Mrs_Rusty is upgrading* to a vehicle that still has it's paint intact. (oh the decadence!)

*Mileage is HIGH - 168k :)

*Only one key.

* Lucas pump, so no veg..

This car is basic.  No PAS, no e/w, not even central locking!!!  In fact, when we first got it, there was no boot light.  I fitted one for LUXURY.  It does have a sunroof though, which almost never leaks!

..And that's about it.

This car is only at scrap value because of the high miles and peeling lacquer.  It is totally usable and dependable.  We have been all over the Country in it.  The engine/ box/ running gear is all fine and capable of the daily grind.

NOT PORSHHH, FERRARI, GREEN406, BARN FIND etc etc  ;-)

Car is in Sittingbourne, Kent- ME10 area.

£250ono

Thanks for reading :)

That seems like a pretty good deal with 7 months' test.  These have to be the second most economical car out there in real terms, after the identically-engined-but-lighter AX.  No doubt there is some modern shopping trolley with a 0.32-litre two-cylinder diesel engine with 7 turbos and 3 superchargers which nominally does 130mpg, but I defy anyone to replicate the official EU fuel economy figures of a small modern diesel in real-word driving.

You're right Wuv, I still think they are as economical as any modern car. The real-world figures cannot be beaten and of course you have zero depreciation. We've saved thousands of ££££'s by running this car!

Of course, you don't get your £30 road tax bracket on this but being 1527cc, the Pug is in the cheaper tax bracket for pre-2001 cars.
