What would it be, if it were a car?

All,

I have no idea how to, if I have access to or if it's even possible... but I keep looking at the new phone on my desk, it's a Cisco thing all modern (I liked my old phone, it was beige).

This one has a funny model number, and being from the land of numberplates that make sense, the nerd in me wonders if it was ever a valid reg:

SPA 504G

Was that reg ever issued? And if so, what was it?

Anyone else have model numbers of things that might be cars?

Hmmmm.....

Looking at the image above I would suggest a Citroen XM.

Very desirable, but....

A blank LCD, a lot of buttons and it appears (temporarily) immobile.

SPA 504G

This registration was first registered during the period August 1968 to July 1969.

The registration was first registered in Surrey.

Hmmm...

'68 in Surrey? My guess is either Mini Moke or XJ6.

However, the phone looks as cheerful as a wedge Princess hearse.

It would be a Duple bodied Val 70, with a lot of gold on board. Strangely NOT hanging off a cliff.

Ford D-series flat, with a load of coal on board.

I am typing this whilst listening to my suitably shite Matsui CD18 radio/cd/tape player. The number CD18 was issued in Brighton in 1904, but has probably changed hands many times over the years. Any suggestions as to what it may now adorn and who might possibly own it?

Don't know about the number plate business, but if that 'phone were a car, it would probably be one of these:Aston-Martin-Lagonda-1976-1989-Photo-04-

or one of these:

There's no explaining how my mind works.
