Sold: Lancia HPE Volumex - that's the supercharged one

I used to get obscure clutch plates relined. Most brake reliners will do it -or send off to some mystical centre in Wales, I think?

Tis an option -if you're stuck..

Cheers.

Going to try a Lancia Delta Integrale 8 valve clutch, as said to match the Trevi Volumex, so should match the  HPE Volumex.  100 Euros plus carriage from some dude in Italy.    Cheaper than in UK.

Any joy with the clutch?

I take it betaboyz were no help.

I seem to remember the VX uses the same as a few other Italian motors, so you may be in luck with the Delta one. Failing that, as Nigel said look at getting the old one rerurbed.

I got the Delta Integrale 8 valve clutch for 100 Euros from Italy.  The release bearing (which is specific to the Vx) arrived today from Germany.  Ready to rock!

eBay.it and eBay.de are v good for Lancia stuff.

Laaaaaaaaaauuuuuuunnnncccccchhhhhhhh the Bollox!

Even as we speak, the fearless and intrepid Captain Bolleaux is hopelessly lost somewhere in the maze of jungle tracks that lie between Derbyshire and Oxfordshire. Today is the day when he takes on the might of a shit old broken down Italian car.  There can be only one victor in this heroic clash between man and shite.  Update later.

Owing to a combination of sadistic piss taking Italiian car design ("yeah, let's see those fuckers maintain these at home, the twats"),  and me bending Mr B's ear with endless mindless chit chat about fook all, poor Mr B has ended up being held hostage at the Breadbin overnight, but at least he got a curry out of the gig.  He's now outside finishing off the last few bits of stuff (looting the exhaust clamp from the donor car to replace the kershaggered one on the VX).  Then it's put the bonnet back on, reconnect the battery, and hope for the best.

Further reports coming later from a ditch somewhere near Thame.

I'm home!!! Bready was gonna go out for a pub lunch in it this afternoon - lets hope that wasn't too much to ask of it.

The creature....lives!   Mr B did sterling work, and also happens to be one charming bloke.  After a minor swearing incident because we (or probably me) had managed to ping the throttle into a stuck open position while rummaging in the innards and so couldn't get the thing to start, it fired up nice and fruity, and proved to be well clutchy clutch geary changy etc.  Mr B took the shed for a cheery Italian tune up, and then headed back to Derbyshireland.  The car then made it to not one but two country pubs, and Mrs BV is v happy to hootle about in it, viz:-

This is excellent news.

And can I just point out how grown-up we're all being by not making any ATCNBE jokes.

I think I haz done a stupid,  Pushed luck using dodgy under reading fuel gauge and may have burned oot lecky fuel pump by running dry.  Arse.    Car now cranks, but no fuel smell, and no sound of fuel pump (usually whines a bit).  Hopefully a simple swap oot.

Mr Breadvan, as you is an experienced lanciashiteist I am surprised you do not travel with the obligatory (full) jerry can in the boot of the motor to top up when necessary.

I have been caught out in the Spyder before as the fuel gauge in that is also somewhat inaccurate.

I've changed the fuel pump on my Spyder, but it was mechanical on the front of the engine, and apart from pissing fuel all over me it was quite straightforward. Leccy one at the back, I think it should be quite easy, I know the ally fuel tank is a recent replacement and i reckon the pump wasn't particularly ancient.

I do have a can but it had been put in the Landy for some reason and I had forgotten to put it back in the Lancia. I iz a numbie fucker.

Not sure where lecky pump actually is. somewhere at back, will look later. car home as mate was close by with his hewyarrrrge Jeep with Merc engine and I had tow rope. Vaguely comforting to know that front towing eye and sub frame can hold the full weight of car going up steep hill on tow. Ie not totes rotten.
