Spottings, an 80's dream a 70's nightmare.

While visiting the in-laws at the weekend I took the dog for a walk and in literally the space of 2 minutes came across several items of interest.

First is this wonderful driveway, clearly a couple going somewhere in the Eighties. Both the 190E and MR2 are utterly lovely and look exceedingly well cared for.

Further down the road, in the Seventies*, the picture is not quite so rosy. The SD1 was a 2600, I say was as it didn't look as if there was actually an engine in it. Neither looked like they have moved much in a while.

Meanwhile across the road from the 190E, a little bit of Japan was playing hide and seek.

I hope this interests someone, my wife had no idea why I returned so excited.

Oh Lovely!, I do like a Merc 190E, that ones got Suffolk plates too.

That Rover/Austin combo looks like it could have been taken in the 70's.

There's often interesting stuff in that driveway, in fact I had another photo of a Toyota Corolla GTi-16 on the street but the blooming iPhone ate it. Well either that or the dog deleted it as he's strictly an 8V canine, he says it's got more torque.

I used to live in a road in London that was 190E City Arizona - the place was wall to wall with them, all taxed, and all apparently owned by different people, and this was only last year, not in 1988.  One was even beige.

It's like a time-travelling vision of The Good Life or Abigail's Party! Fantastic.

That Century is awesome indeed.   How will he get it out when the Ran Over fails to proceed?   190Es enhance property values PHAKT.

The rover looks like a series 1 - looks more like a T plate. Quite rare now.

Only ever seen one Century on the road, one dropped a chap off at a rather nice country pup one evening near Chorelywood, lace side and rear curtains drawn, filled the road like a graceful privately owned battlecruiser, loved it instantly, definately got to have one before i kick the bucket.

Chesham. The only bit of it I know which is the walk between the in-laws and the park. A bloody cold and windy walk at the weekend too.

I've seen other interesting stuff in that drive with the Century, a couple of years ago there was a nice E30 Alpina. I shall keep an eye on it next time I'm around.

And the 190E is indeed utterly lovely, I'd have one in a heartbeat.
