I've found a nice little green lane to explore with it next weekend, and so I leave you with a picture of our rescue pup trying the boot out for size:

Oh I forgot to mention, this one has working Air Con, electric windows and a dual Electric tow bar, y'know for towing or perhaps as an impromptu parking sensor system.

Well it is an Isuzu with a crappy Carlton engine wedged in innit?

All tow bars are parking sensors.  Parking by Braille is the only way.

Whats the mpg like on these? No money at the moment but would like one before i throw in my license! Looked online and reviews are one extreme to the other regards reliability and mpg

Also always wondered why swb and lwb models had different switchgear layout. One of them had indictors on right side and buttons for wipers and the other had the typical Vauxhall switchgear

It's difficult to gauge, as the fuel sender doesn't work, I rely in resetting the trip counter whenever I put fuel in, currently around 50 miles on the last tenner. I do keep a can in it just in case though.

22-28 ish is realistic.

They all had the same - facelift/pre facelift is difference.

Fisher price or Swoopyâ„¢ styles.

My grans next door neighbour had a early lwb many moons back on a l plate and my dad had a kplate swb ssport and i pretty sure the lwb model had buttons on dash for lights/wipers and right hand side indicator stalk but my dads had typical rotary light switch near drivers right knee and wipers and indicators on stalks same style as Vauxhall of that era. I could be wrong though. As for MPG. That doesn't sound too bad considering i got approximately 30 mile to a tenner out the e class. The petrol light in the merc still haunts me.

Just had a look on eBay and there is one early lwb model with push buttons round the clocks and indicators on right hand side so perhaps i wasn't dreaming. Something to do with Isuzu maybe?

Posted

Jesus, will someone please buy this or offer me something against it, I've had another no-hoper wanting me to deliver it to the other side of the country for way under the asking price, where the hell do these people come from!

Preston

£312.02 and TWO Fray Bentos pies....

I'll say it again, as full of utter rugmunchers as it is, eBay and hope you can do a sale "off the bay" - done that with a few cars now and have found eBay an excellent advertising medium...

It is an Isuzu.

Mu/Amigo        = SWB (Sport)

Wizard/Rodeo = LWB (5dr)

Can't remember what the Honda badged one was called.....

Anyway, how much for cash money?..

I replied here earlier but It's gone missing, 500 would seal the deal to a shitest.

I know this is an odd question, but how tall are these are the highest point?

I've got clearance of 6'4" into the lockup.

Posted

This may be a hit taller as it has the removable roof at the back, I shall consult the owner's manual.

Posted

Tim, why not stand next to the car and see if it's taller than you :-)

Posted

Heh, it's not taller than I am, so under 6ft, if it's the hardtop its 5ft8 as above, or 5ft6 if a soft top, I mean I don't think it is either, the top is hard, but removable, but either way it's under your limit :)

Posted

we had a LWB that had been jacked up and was running bigger tyres and a roof beacon and it got into my standard council lock up.

Posted

Are the back bits actually removable on these?

I'd suggestst checking out the shitefest 2013 photos.. Some bits came off philibusmo's one.

There's an Irmscher Longhorn (or whatever they're called - the SWB one), in the local scrappy with the complete Recaro interior - are these worth anything? Should I relieve it and generate some coin from an ebay transaction?

Which one, Dave?

I'll have the steering wheel and the seats please.

All of it comes off if you want. Or just the roof (too big to store in vehicle) or roof and side/rear glass.  The whole shebang  needs two fairly hefty people to lift. And sunshine/no rain.

The height was taken from the handbook under 'overall height'. For a coiler pre-facelift model on 16" rims.

I will now go outside and measure my standard one.
