Those little cars go very well indeed. I had that engine/box combo in a W202 and it went like a rocket. GLWTS.

A really nice car and the old SLK kompressor has aged well and it looks good in Black

 

I remember when they first came out as they caused quite a stir..

 

I was stuck in Paris for a couple of hours waiting for a train to take me south to a wedding and one of those in Red was parked up with a crowd around it and I've never seen that with any car since.

 

Also you never see a rusty one about which can't be said of other Mercedes of that period so I guess the car was designed before the Daimler/Chrysler merger which can't be bad.

 

It's a shame he can't hang onto it to the Spring/summer months as there's always a premium for a nice open top two seater especially as it's in the MX5 Mk2 price bracket and it looks like a prestige bit of kit for the same money..

 Give it time, we had a w plate SLK 230, it was rusty as hell (arches, bumper/wing joins and boot handle), everything else was mint, bloody Chysler shitty quality, deffo shite imho......
