Citroen ZX Turbo Diesel £250 Scotland

Oh Hello,

I need to get rid of this ZX sharpish if anyone wants it for 250 quid please come and take it away.

The factz

1993 Citroen ZX TD XUD (veg muncher)

MOT April

Tax March

It developed a running fault in which it would run like a bastard then conk out. I found diesel was leaking out the bottom of the filter so I plugged it with some instant gasket and it seemed to solve it. I noticed a week on since I did this it's leaking again but still seems to be running okay so it needs fixed properly or switch it to the Laquer Peel © reccomended system of switching it to an inline filter.

It can be a bit grumpy to start when cold and smokes and is grumpy for a couple minutes until it settles down. I think this is down to a previous veg addiction and I'm sure some injector cleaner would help it out.

Good bits are T&T, I gave it a mopping and it's actually pretty tidy. Decent stereo, elecy windows, sunroof and decent stereo. Goes like stink and drives really well when it's going.

Has done sterling service since I got it taking stuff to the dump.

I'm in Ayrshire west coast of Scotland.

Fucking brilliant car, goes like a rocket too.

It's the engine I want in the car I like...

But like the XM now! Did have a friend who was after something cheap and dieselly, but that sale wont be happening until april time. Shame as I could have a fucking epic roadtrip up and back down with the budget provided!

Sorely tempted for a company hack, we've got to commute to Chester from Edinburgh, and back over next few months and this would save us a fortune! You happy to hold till next week?

When I saw you'd posted on this thread Mr_cabbage my first thought was that the engine was going to get stolen and put in a 205 ... or possibly Olga

Haha! Im still looking for an XUD9 for the Niva... I don't think it will be this one though!

I'm really tempted actually.

Disatance being the main issue.

Can anyone fill me about the engine- what mileage?

Does it have the original engine in it or is it a replacement? I thought theese were 1.7s

If it is a replacement engine, what year car did it come from??

Any idea of work needed for MOT?

Posted

Sure can. It's a 1.9TD XUD. No engine swap that I know of

129,000 miles on it. As mentioned above it's been run on veg so is a bit lumpy when cold so probably needs some injector cleaner wanged through it.

It goes really well other than that and the diesel leak. Can't see anything obvious for MOT other than you have to scoosh the rear scooshers to get the front ones to work.

Sometimes a clunk on full lock so possible CV. Could be nothing. Could be something.

Aaarrrgggh!

I'll have to give it a think..

Definateltly don't go and scrap it.

BX's were 1.7 XUD - the ZX dizzers were the same as the Xantias  1.9 either asthmatic or ventolin powered XUD form, legendary engines, the engine that started the whole dizzler revolution. 96PHP I think for a Turbo which with a ZX which weighs zip makes this a quick car.

Bloody hell cabbage - you have a lot of 205's!

Andy, did you get my PM back?

Got a plan. I could do with it in summer sometime, no rush.

Scooters could buy it, MOT it and run it for as long as he needs and I will buy it off him with X months MOT for £300.

Happy faces all round.

He's cheating a bit with that sig. The first eight on there are no longer with him. Mostly they died a horrible, cruel, painful death.

He is getting better though - this week, his current 205 is mostly receiving some serious loving from Will's hot wand.
