All the sensors for mpg already there on the engine and loom?

On a Twincam efi yes    all it needs is a pulse from the speed sensor and a pulse from the ecu

What have you got ?

I've got a mk4 fiesta and a old Honda c90. Not looking to fit one,was just curious.

Didn't dream it. It was so long ago the reg was G688BPH. Shown as un licenced by DVLA. If it were ever to turn up again, I'd buy it and restore it.

Not much of an update  but  ...

Ive just had a new windscreen fitted as the original was cracked by falling connifers while the previos owner had it

ive replaced the front springs as i just wasnt  happy about the height   , i thought / hoped it would settle but it diddnt

also a new set of plates from DMB and given it a serious polish and wax .

Just needs the door mirror caps painting and fitting ,  a red stripe on the rear bumper  , and a pair of wiper blades for the MOT now

This is lush, love it

Those DMB plates look great. I want a set for the Merc but they don't make them for Lancasters. :(

Lush, indeed....forgot how nice these Sapphs looked after the initial shock of the Probe-type design.   Really was no need to ever progress beyond this IMHO, but then,  I is Luddite....

I missed this first time round, so now I can add myself to the list of people who have already said FOOKIN BRILLIANT JOB.

It's hard to believe I'm even on the same planet as people like you and Ratdat who just post up 'then I replaced the entire interior', 'spent Thursday evening swapping the engine and gearbox, now runs a treat' etc.  I have no idea how you do this without it taking years, and life-changing injuries, and 273 posts on the Stupid Questions thread.

Love this! Reminds me of my time on the taxis in Middlesbrough. A company I worked for around 1997 had two LXs in that colour, J506 DAH being a 1.8td and J567 FTS being a 1.8 CVH. Pretty soon, they both got grey bumpers. Not out of choice, more down to old Roger, the nightshift driver and his tendency to smack the front and back ends on them! At one point, DAH had an '87 hatchback bonnet, grille and bumper and a square rear bumper from a mk1 hatchback... We got some serious mileage out of them, along with K253 MWS, a 1.6i CVH Azura Sapphire.

I've had a great fondness for Sierras since those days.

Yet another fantastic job from Stix, who deserves all the credit he gets.

Just a note to Skizzer - yes Stix is a god, but do bear in mind, if you are used to many cars, you might be surprised just how easy swapping a Sierra interior is!

They will custom make you a set for whichever dealership you want, just email them a picture of what the original plate looks like or if you havent got 1 give them the dealers details and rough idea how you want it to look and they'll knock up an image of how they'll turn out and you just email back with any tweaks you want, they'll adjust until you are happy, they did this for me, amazing attention to detail and spot on customer service.

DAH is a Norwich reg - a long way from home then!

There was a DAH Sierra Sapphire in my local scrappers a few years ago..

Result!

But not a surprise.  That looks a really good car, and clearly well sorted by Mr. Stix.

Christ. I bought a Galaxy blue Sapphire in 1990, E787HCK that was a 1.8LX iirc. 24 years ago. :-0

Great resto btw.

Might sell it now , i havent decided yet

Surely, with your quite outrageous levels of Saff Skillz you could pop any of hundreds of different engines in if you're getting bored?

It's the bollocks, by the way.

Sell it. And with the proceeds go and buy a LHD post 88 three door shell and build the three door Cosworth Ford never made c/w Coseh rimz, Sapphy Cos bonnet, grille, bumpers etc. a sort of three door Sapphire Cosworth if you see what I mean.

I have every faith.

^^^^ Thats a splendid idea. GREAT job by the way!!!! You are a shite WINNER!

Or a late model 1993 interpretation of the early base model misery Sierra. Silver painted steels, no side mouldings, the starkest of interiors and a 1300 CVH with a four speed. And get a vinyl genius to parody the 'laser' logo to read 'loser'.
