EssDeeWon Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Today I finished my selection from the options suggested and my experiment with a new idea has turned out acceptably well. I'll be updating you with that on Friday. In the meantime, keep those suggestions coming in. What about an early two tone Spacecruiser? HMC and eddyramrod 2
Shep Shepherd Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 nay, nay, nay, saaab 99 turbot with THOSE wheels Lovely, lovely car, but I have a real passion for the 900
MarvinsMom Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 i like the metro, its very cool and a very different take on it from what i was expecting. vulgalour 1
vulgalour Posted April 22, 2015 Author Posted April 22, 2015 Choices so far: > Audi 100 coupe, the one from the early 70's that looks like an Aston Martin. > Renault Avantime > Smart Crossblade > Isuzu Vehicross > Back to the Future spec Toyota Hilux > Renault Racoon > Early (V, W or X registration) Saab 900 Turbo 3-door hatchback in solid black with Inca alloys > saaab 99 turbot with THOSE wheels > a triumph 2500s? in mimosa yellow > Isuzu Nagisa traversing the Thames with Steven Bailey singing the libretto from HMS Pinafore. Under Tower Bridge. While being attacked by a Routemaster \ Dalek hybrid. ALL YOUR TICKETS WILL BE REFUNDED! > early two tone Spacecruiser So many strong contenders, searching for suitable reference (and in some cases wtf it is, Isuzu Nagisa I'm looking at you) hasn't made things any easier. It is highlighting how many cars I really like, the Audi 100, Avantime, SAAB 99, mimosa yellow Triumph and early Spacecruiser all rank very highly on my wantometer. Shep Shepherd 1
vulgalour Posted April 24, 2015 Author Posted April 24, 2015 The next piece is going to be very interesting as I've not only got to choose a vehicle from the list I've got to figure out what on earth some of the suggestions actually are, it's like reading a foreign language this time around! Good stuff. From the last round it was either going to be a Cortina or a Corsair and I chose.... Because I love Corsairs. The nearest I've come to owning one was buying a pair of rear light clusters. Remember, keep those suggestions coming in for stuff you'd like to see me create. From this point on, commercials and public transport suggestions are welcome as well as the usual car stuff. eddyramrod, EssDeeWon, Bren and 6 others 9
purplebargeken Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 That looks pretty darn impressive! vulgalour 1
eddyramrod Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 That Corsair is lush! Mine was about the same blue as Trigger's Cortina, TKC 562G It's been dead over 30 years now. trigger and vulgalour 2
vulgalour Posted April 25, 2015 Author Posted April 25, 2015 It's Elly, Dollywobbler's 2CV. None of us like putting our old cars away, especially if we don't know when they're going to be coming out to play again and I thought this tiny postcard picture would bring a bit of cheer to the Seabrook household. The original is in a plain unfinished wooden frame which seemed fitting. The original is quite tiny, it fits in your hand. Shep Shepherd, stripped fred, fordperv and 2 others 5
dollywobbler Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Indeed, it has brought cheer beyond its dinky dimensions. eddyramrod and vulgalour 2
vulgalour Posted April 29, 2015 Author Posted April 29, 2015 I'm sat here with too many reference pictures and unable to choose between the shortlist. Even rolling a die results in me being unhappy having to choose. You made this round far too difficult, pick things I don't like next time
MarvinsMom Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 some bmw thing, anything that doesn't sat cunt on the back.
twosmoke300 Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Probably been asked before but have you done landrovers before Mr vulgalour?
vulgalour Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 Here's a Land Rover commission I had last year. Land Rovers are nice to draw, lots of straight lines to work with. Seems likely I'll miss the Friday deadline on the piece I finally decided to draw thanks to back pain. We'll see how I'm doing tomorrow, I'll probably upload what I've done so far on Friday anyway, however far I've got with it. fordperv 1
vulgalour Posted May 1, 2015 Author Posted May 1, 2015 Disappointed that I failed to hit the deadline this week thanks to injuring my back. As promised, below is as far as I got with the suggestion I chose from the list, certainly one of the toughest round of suggestions so far. Suggestions so far, feel free to add more. Spectacularly porridgey this round, you all took my complaint of interesting stuff being too difficult to choose between far too literally. > Nissan Juke> Van delivering combi-boilers to the Apple store> Silver Audi> Silver Volkswagen> Some BMW thing> 2001 Citroen Relay Van fordperv, brickwall, Jim Bergerac and 3 others 6
vulgalour Posted May 1, 2015 Author Posted May 1, 2015 What did I ever do to you to deserve that, Mr Tayne?
vulgalour Posted May 1, 2015 Author Posted May 1, 2015 Wish I had more time to devote to suggestions made to be honest. There's been some excellent ones. I do keep them all on file though so I can go back to them if I'm stuck for ideas, which I sometimes am.
vulgalour Posted May 5, 2015 Author Posted May 5, 2015 Dodge Challenger sketch, needs more work and I need to decide whether or not to add more modifications. So far so good all the same. fordperv, Bobthebeard and xtriple 3
Bobthebeard Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Did you ever sketch/draw/paint the Prelude? If so, interested. If not then.... Errr, interested! 😄
vulgalour Posted May 5, 2015 Author Posted May 5, 2015 I did not, but I would be happy to do so. Bobthebeard 1
Bobthebeard Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 I did not, but I would be happy to do so.[/quote Consider it a commision then! Looking for a sketch as per the Dodge Challenger...
vulgalour Posted May 5, 2015 Author Posted May 5, 2015 Sure thing I'll PM you some particulars. Bobthebeard 1
vulgalour Posted May 5, 2015 Author Posted May 5, 2015 I'm feeling generous, here's another sketch from the pile. It could go shiny show pebble, it could go 70s street furniture, I have not yet decided. alf892 and fordperv 2
vulgalour Posted May 8, 2015 Author Posted May 8, 2015 It is time for your Suggestion Friday update. Let's start with the Toyota which is now completed, I'm quite happy with the end result. I'm still tweaking the style I employed for the Lincoln Zephyr picture and I feel it worked a bit better on this image. I was hoping to delight you with a completed second choice from the list but playing catch up and prioritising my workload meant I only got as far as this sketch of the mimosa yellow Triumph 2000. I'll complete this, hopefully in time for next Friday. I'll pick a winner from the suggestions made over the last week and have that released for you next Friday. This round is going to be different. People can make 1 suggestion each but it can only be of a vehicle they have owned. It'll be like entering a raffle for a free commission. Ghosty and EssDeeWon 2
vulgalour Posted May 8, 2015 Author Posted May 8, 2015 1959 Chevrolet Impala. Completed this one this week too, original available to purchase.
