I forgot, Volvo, they do a load of AWD cars, not just the T5-R. I've seen V70-R's with the lpt for under £1k.

Subaru, non turbo legacy saloon or Impreza's can be got quite cheaply.

I've got this...They don't do bad in the white stuff...I would never sell it though...My mate uses a clubman (Not 4x4 I know...) in the snow...has now got snow tyres and LSD. Brill.

Excuse to show winter pictures.

This is at £100 no reserve with just over a day to go! MOT and taxed, what could go wrong?

How silly would a manual one of these be? I actually really like them (in 4x4 format) but I'm really, really scared of them too.

Did somebody say shite pickup?

It's pretty local* to you as well, it's in scotlandshire somewhere.

Good find that's grim!

If that Scenic sells for around 300 quid it's got to be worth a punt. I know bugger all about the 4x4 system in them but you got to bet if it's a 90's renner it's probably shite.

it's probably the same one in the Espace quadra they'd been keeping in a yard for 10 years somewhere in France.

All Daihatsu's are ace.

That said, I never been in a Terios, but would definitely have one.

Look the heck at this thing....

(apologies - I just searched for '4x4', earlier than 1993 to see if anything interesting appeared - I think this was included on account of the 1990cc engine)

A targa top 2-door MPV with a 4wd system. What an utterly tremendous idea! So ineptly pointless that I now find myself wanting a less shitty, unbroken version.

Hey cort - the std 3 door RVR petrol turbo is an option, looks like an MPV, handles like a small van, goes like stink with 220-270bhp depending on version.

I got high 20's to the gallon out of mine.

AMC Eagle diesel.

Only if it's fitted with winter tyres.

That one should be - detuned evo engine producing around 220bhp according to the info I could find.

Sports gear = no turbo

Super Sports Gear = detuned evo motor 220bhp

Hyper Sports gear = not detuned 270bhp

Did they not do a smiley transit like that as well but with a turbod pinto?

My Espace quadra is currently only 2wd due to the viscous coupling. Reading up on them these things have a very limited life so I would avoid anything that uses one including freelanders. Why not have one of these post-5515-0-91513500-1385797027_thumb.jpg

Mine is just about ready for the road now, but the 45mph flat out and horrendous fuel consumption might rule it out. It is a floppytop though so fun all year round. I also run an Izusu trooper 3.1 not a bad old bus but fuel consumption is very poor and it's no better than the discovery it replaced for towing. The only plus point is it hasn't dissolved like most dicoveries

Just bought an old Hi-Lux [a la Top Gear one] for not a lot. Seems pretty good, I intend parking it on top of a block of flats........
