I won't be there on the 21st as I'll off to meet these guys (amongst others)

And watch them (and others) parade them around a bit like this

That's the beauty of the MMM. You don't have to turn up to every time as there will be another one along eventually and maybe this year, other fun* activities to do.

Don't forget that when the weather gets warmer, the MM roadshow moves from auctions to standing on people's drives constructively suggesting repairs to other members cars, drinking tea and eating cake/bacon sandwiches. Spanners and hammers are usually bought to these meetings to for repair purposes.

Confirmation: can't make it. Sozlike. Someone have a deathburger for me.

Well, tomorrow is a no go as everyone seems to be doing other things it seems. Not to worry, feel free to arrange for another date. lt seems I'm busy on a wedding next week so I'm oot.

Saw Andy today.  Loose plan for Saturday: brekkie at the Hollies as usual, mooch down the auctions if CBA.

Posted

Don't think I'll be able to make it, due to the leak repairage that didn't happen on the Merc last weekend, it's going in this Saturday, by the time I get away from the garage, auction will be over at the very least.

Andy - once free from garage I'll text or call you to see what's happening.

Perhaps this is a plan, although the starter motor for the MG isn't in the MG so it'll be boring everyday Astra if it's anything.

Still, burger. Mmmmm. Burger.

Posted

If it makes you feel better, I'll bring the Blingo  :)

BX WILL BE TRIUMPHANT IN ITS ARRIVAL. (I bloody hope it will if I can get it back from the garage on Friday)

Posted

What time should I collect you from the station?

Alas my friends,

Too soon I spoke,

I can't do breakfast,

I can give you a lift to Cannock and back if you like and for tracking on a weekend try Selly Oak tyres, £25 an end and they have a big digital screen in the bay so you can see the before and after situation.

So who is going tomorrow? ROLL CALL PLS

Sloth in a bowl (please let this be on, else I don't have an excuse not to do the Cannon Hill Park 5km run)

Posted

Better sort the tracking out. Depending on what time it's done, I'll try and get to the burger van I mean auctions.

Yes Shuma SX same as mine, year newer but same colour. Did it sell for £200?

Posted

Yup. First handful of cars made little money today, if you had a bag doing nothing you could have probably come home with five cars. £180 for a Corsa, there was a Fiesta that he tried to start the bidding at £100 and it drove out unsold. The strong money came in later, JRG BMW Compact for close on £2k and it was almost like Fiat Punto appreciation day in there.

Legacy 3.0 for £450, looked mint. I think it was a similar story with the Outback, both full leather with test.

Cheap stuff, even the Jaaaaaggg for £230 is good. Looks like a good day out, shame its a bit far for a visit.

Just looked on dvla and the Shuma has a ticket until mid June. Good bargain for someone there.

Other high*lights were a Chrysler Voyager that was so smokey he made it park outside instead of letting it idle in the shed, and a Freelander 1.8 that cut out and had to make its way in on the starter. Cue much tittering from the crowd, it made only about £320 - hammer fell, he turned the key, it started and drove out. Seller didn't seem a happy chappy!

That H6 Outback should have been MINE!  Plenty of room to sleep in it, which would be the instruction from Domestic Management...  :D

Wow man, glad I couldn't make it just because that S-Type @ £250 would've truely brought me to tears. I really must get that bastard 827 Coupe of mine sold, fast. In fact, I should just sell a few of the 800s and stick an S-type in its place.
