Superbe! I had my eye recently on a nice one with LPG, but that takes up half the boot and renders the foldable rear seat useless... bummer.

Wow. That really is a thing of beauty. What year is it?

It's a 1968 TS. Here's some more pics....

Thanks for those pics - now I've got to go and change my trousers  .Thought it was an early one from the chrome edges on the back light clusters, but couldn't be sure. Don't think I've seen a right-hooker that early in a very long time. I'm even more jealous now. By the way, if you're blanking out the registration, it might be an idea to blank out its reflection in the bumper too... So is it really as nice as it looks?

very tasty..are you buying then :D

Yup. On a major fund raising drive at present top pay for it. It's expensive but I've long wanted a 16 and an early TS like this ticks every box. Plus I'm tired of rusty cars and endlessly having to work on stuff so I'm going to treat myself with a really nice car for a change.

fair dues good luck with ya new purchase chap, very jealous

That's really nice Ed!Looks like you've got lots going on in the background too, now I see why the cars are all lined up in the field if you're surfacing that area behind the house.Wish I could buy something off you and contribute to the 16 pot, but the T72 has taken any available funds and I'm not sure you'd have had anything that would be quite immediately usable for me.Did the 16 come about through you finding that Renault chap nearby?

OMFG etc etcI love everything about that, especially with it being an early one. Careful when I come down next time I don't sneak off home in that and leave you a tatty old J-mobile!! :P You need a photo shoot with your mate's in the village now.

Yeah, I'm building a car park  I've got 50 tonnes of the A157 with which to surface it. It's been hard to get the job done because of the crappy weather. I've also layed armoured power cables out to the buildings in two foot deep trenches. That wasn't a very fun job. Today, I'm concreteing a new access ramp to my workshop. If the weather stays dry I'll be getting the surface down on Wednesday. Then I have a path to concrete in and two fences to build!Quite a few cars are getting sold to make way for this. I need to cull ten cars so I have enough indoor storage for all the rest as well as for raising funds for this and for transforming my parts shed into a lovely 6 or 7 car garage next year.Yes, the guy down the road suggested some available 16's. I'd already decided I didn't want another project so it narrowed it down to just a couple of nice ones. I think this one is as good as I'll get. It needs a respray to may it truly mint but it's pretty nice as is.

What a lovely example! '68 must be one of the earliest surviving UK examples...I'm sure I read of a resto of a '67 in PC a few years back, which was the "prototype" RHD GL-spec, brought in by Renault for evaluation purposes. What's the black box below the dash but above the pedals under the column, just out of interest? That's not a tacho on the right of it, is it?Oh, and obviously I'm jealous of your surroundings, as always

It's just a black metal panel with a cubby hole in it to the right. The white print on it gives the tyre pressures. The dial at the righ hand side is the heater temperature control. No idea why Renault chose to put it there when the rest of the heater controls are under the centre of the dash!

Have you still got that SD1 & 81 Sunny Estate?

The Sunny Estate is gone but the SD1 is still here. It'll go on ebay at the end of the week when I've sorted out some tyres for the Vitesse alloys. Bernie is selling her '79 Charade and her '84 Mazda 323 GT will go too. My AMC Javelin hopefully has a buyer once I have done some work on it. My '79 Colt 1400 has found a new home too. Not sure what else will be going yet. I'm keeping my Datsun 160J SSS, Datsun 510, Datsun 312 estate, Cherry Europe and Bernie's red N12 Cherry. The Renault 15TS is staying as is the Datsun Sunny pickup but that may be sold when it's finished. My Datsun 1000 will probably stay as it's the Datsun I've owned the longest and I have an irrational sentimental attachment to it. besides which it's worthless as is. The rest is undecided. May even sell the Renault 11 if I have to but I really don't want to.

Very nice.Off topic rant: it really pisses me off when cars for sale are photographed in a puddle of soapy water, often with a bucket and cloth visible next to them. I mean, if you're going to create the illusion that the car's shiny and beautiful (not to say your 16 isn't; it looks a minter), FFS don't put evidence to the contrary all over the place....

16 looks lovely, congratulations! Always fancied one myself, the idea of wafting through the French countryside in a 16 appeals rather strongly! If you do decide that the R11 is going (and it realise its probably not!), please let me know! I have a big R11 shaped hole in my life

Quite a thinning down of the fleet Ed, but necessary I realise.Shame the little Charade has to go, it's a really nice little car and possibly unique. It definitely needs a good home. Would seem to have Hirst's name on it if he didn't keep buying tatty old Datsuns!!!

Yes, it is. It still needs a few bits and bobs doing and paint but is generally very nice.If posting them is not to much hassle that would be great. I'm not sure when I'll get a chance to get down your way.Mr. Lobster, if I do sell the R11 you'll get first shout. I'd rather not sell it as it's in such nice condition.

Brilliant thank you! I understand why you wouldn't want to sell it though.
