Micrashed Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Does anyone have experience of owning one? I like the Note, but the SWB Modus is more aesthetically pleasing on the eye to me.
gadgetgricey Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Had one a s aourtesy car and travelled to see friends in it. Over 300 miles in a little car went surprisingly easily. Drove very nicely, but there was one thing that did annoy. (Could just have been this one though) Found it impossible to drive with just one window partially down. You had to drop the opposite back window as well the same amount. If you did not the car would get back pressure almost like pulses in the cabin, that actually hurt your ears after a while.Could actually be the sign of a well made car as the pressure could not escape, but became quite tiresome. Cheers - Dave -
Faker Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Father in-law has one. Yep the bloody thing hurts your head and ears when one window is down a tiny bit!! Other than that it's a great wee yoke. Not quick by any means though.

Have to open a front window slightly to stop the effect.
Junkman Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Post the question on this forum: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?s=7832d98ec38f015ec8bb228fc9db2208&f=70The roflcopter would start and not be able to land for quite a while, that's for sure. Sigmund Fraud 1

Its a RenaultWhich seems to me to be a cast iron autoshite seal of approval to buy one. Last thing I had with the diamond badge was a Laguna 1 - twas a nice motor.
purplebargeken Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 i10 does the same thing - gives me a right headache. Modus, interestingly odd. I quite like the look.
Pillock Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Any modern car I've been in does the window thing. I just thought I had overly sensitive ears to pressure.
Negative Creep Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Aren't they the ones where you have to reomve the bumper to change the headlight bulbs?
Jack_Harpers_Teeth Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 We too had one as a courtesy car. During our custodianship I actually enjoyed driving it - it made me smile, which is unusual for me in any "modern". I did feel as though I was sitting on it rather than in it though.

Which seems to me to be a cast iron autoshite seal of approval to buy one. I just couldn't resist... However, I came to the same conclusion as you did. Best one is that joker going on about ALL RENOZ R ROOBESH, then continues to state that he was very happy with the three he owned. Also quite commonplace is that someone advises you to spend extra money in order to get thisandthat - on a "money saving experts" forum. The guy saying to buy a OMGVAG instead finally had me rofling. Now, I just noticed that I haven't given you my advise yet - which is to forget about the Modus and buy an old 'Trelle instead.I bet you could have led a reasonably happy life without my wisdom, but there you go.
Micrashed Posted August 29, 2013 Author Posted August 29, 2013 My buggering bastard best mate has bought one of these (well, this actual one) : I are jealous and want a 4x4 - but no way am I spunking 10LARgE on one - think I'll stick to the Modus idea
Junkman Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 A 4X4? Step right this way, sir. Also available in a more urban* l00k: KruJoe 1

makum101 Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Hired one for a week. quite liked the small but spacious feel. It also brought me much attention at the funeral I drove to in it.

Go on - finish the story. You're an undertaker aren't you? No wonder it drew attention - I'm guessing you had to put the little hatch in the tailgate to use to accommodate the long load. Micrashed Posted August 30, 2013 Author Posted August 30, 2013 After trawling eBay looking at 4x4's now (yeah, thanks Ivan and your bloody Land Rover) the Missus asked me "Just what the fuck car do you want - say you had £10,000 to spend on a car - what one car would you buy" And you know what - I havent a fucking clue. I think Im destined to keep the K11 forever - needs welding and shocks for its MOT, I suppose thats cheaper than another car.
Sigmund Fraud Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 I think Im destined to keep the K11 forever - needs welding and shocks for its MOT, I suppose thats cheaper than another car. Common sense : You have an economical, reliable old banger that you know the faults of. So you're better off keeping it and fixing those faults. Autoshite way : So, you're considering buying that 'barn find' Alfa Romeo Arna that was vandalised in 1992 by being set on fire and thrown into a closed-down communal pool. Seller has just pulled it out of said pool and listed it on the 'bay as a 'straightforward restoration project' with a starting price of £500. Pictures show a pile of molten plastic bits loosely connected by lumps of ferrous oxide. In the background of the pictures, there is a scruffy old caravan, an untaxed, MoT-less LDV beavertail, a Cozy Coupe and at least three rottweilers. 'Well, of course you should bid ! What can possibly go wrong ?'
Micrashed Posted August 30, 2013 Author Posted August 30, 2013 Common sense : stuff Autoshite way : Sensible stuff Ive just emailed someone about a Frontera Sport - looks nice and £600 with nearly a years MOT Sigmund Fraud 1
KruJoe Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Come and get Phil's one from Shitefest here in two week's time. It's £100(or more) cheaper! http://autoshite.com/topic/14493-bolloxhall-cuntera-sprout-20-pez-for-sale-or-swapz-shitefest-2013-not-barry-from-eastenders-your-mum-dog-wee-unexpected-walrus-ect-ect/
Junkman Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 "Just what the fuck car do you want - say you had £10,000 to spend on a car - what one car would you buy" That's enough to buy at least 20 pieces of prime shite. What's your real estate situation?
Micrashed Posted August 30, 2013 Author Posted August 30, 2013 Ahh, she was being hypothetical - at best I have £1500 to luz on some shiite.
