Temporary relocation to central Bulgaria has slowed the photo output but normal service will now be resumed.

What's the car in the top pic of the last post?

It looks to  me like a slightly mis-proportioned 3rd gen Mazda Cosmo.

That's a very good question, and one I hope to be able to answer next time I pass it in a less hurried/hot/intoxicated state.

Mazda 929.

Cheers for that ... and a quick check on wikipedia

The third generation HB Cosmo from 1981 shared the Mazda HB chassis with its twin, the Mazda Luce (marketed overseas as the Mazda 929)

That's probably why it reminded me of a 3rd gen Cosmo ... anyway 929 4wd koop now added to want list

It certainly is a Tavria. Only the second one I've seen. Proper shite.

There is plenty of German automobilia here, new and old.

The 1200 is 500ûò þr 215pounds (no pound sign on Bulgarian computer keyboards).

I'm also being courted by an aubergine 1500 that is close by.

That 1200 is bloody lovely. Utterly fantastic thread, please do not stop, ever.

Noticed a couple of things. Firstly - where are all the people. I think I've seen one person in the pics. Have they all left Bulgaria to go elsewhere, thus leaving vast amounts of super cars for us all to perv over? Secondly, are there any cute Bulgarian women that you might persuade to pose with the cars? I have never seen a Bulgarian woman. I have heard they exist.

Posted

The Bulgarian women do indeed exist (and are bloody lovely). I am always attempting to capture more of these elusive creatures on film. Currently most Bulgarians are at the seaside for the summer whilst I have recently gone in the opposite direction, inland, which might explain the lack of people in shot.

Only one (picturesque) spot from today before the 40C heat made my camera cease functioning.

And still no people.

But there is a brown Nova.

What's 700 ûò in real money?

Looks like it has an LPG installation, too.

700 Leva is about 315 pounds.

There is a much higher percentage of LPG installed cars here than in Britain.

Petrol and diesel prices are relatively high.

Say no more.

And I do understand this correctly that this is all EU now and everything?

So in all hypotheticality, the following scenario could be thinkable:

- I'd paypal (or whatever) you the doh

- You'd purchase the car

- You'd use the car as you please until either

A.) you visit England

B.) I manage to pick it up in .bg

- I'd compensate you for your time and effort

I agree with others this is an inspirational thread, the very essence of Autoshite. Bulgaria is obviously the place for this stuff. CZ used to be similar, but a recent trip there shows it to have become just another boring EU country motoring-wise.

A post or two seem to have disappeared during the .co/.com palaver but to recap; yes it's perfectly theoretically possible, Daewoo Tico, A scone = autoViagra, Bulgaria is shmotoring heaven.

EDIT - Moving to another new city* on the 28th, new chod ahoy.

Worthy thread continues to deliver the goods.  I'll take the yellow estate if you're posting them out.
