Testing 1,2,3.

Thought it might be good to have a single thread where we can report any minor problems we're having with the new forum and have a general test area where we can try out all the fancy-schmancy new features this new forum has, rather than starting loads of new threads with every query along the way.

I'l kick off with this...

Is there any reason the Firefox spell checker might not work on the reply box in the new forum? It did on the old one and everywhere else online, or is there one on this forum I haven't found yet?

I don't appear to be able to quote only part of a post, just the complete post;  I got a message something about illegally interfering with the header (oooh matron!) when I tried. Is that just an initial glitch or are we destined for Pistonheads-style two posts of multiple quotes per page?

Thats something i can sort, but probably wont be till morning.

Quick workround is to highlight quote text wanted, right click then copy

Then rightclick/paste into reply.

Highlight and click quote icon at top pf post.

False alarm, I checked and it's ok now. I like this idea of  turn off the ignition, a couple of dabs on the accelerator pedal, another twist of the key and away we go :-P

Dave, I have a PM from a member but I can't reply to it!

Every time I try to send a message I get the following (and lose my message).

Strict Standards: Declaration of sfsLinkIp::buildMessage() should be compatible with that of hanEmail::buildMessage() in /home/blakey/public_html/hooks/sfsLinkIp_709fd2f37f0a5e978a838eac295eb9ec.php on line 39

Still getting that same message when I tried to reply to your PMs from earlier, and when I repoted another bit of spam, although I did get a pop-up saying the report had been sent.

Is there some reason why you can't paste something into the reply box? Between that and the lack of spellcheck it's as if it operates seperately from the rest of the forum, even with Adblock and NoScript turned off.

At the top of the reply box, just click the smiley face and they'll appear at the bottom. There's a few duplicates and a few missing yet, but I guess that'll get sorted in time.

What are you using to view the forum on?

I only have a PC and a laptop and I get that reply box on both of them, on both Chrome and Firefox. Just discovered the spell-checker works on Chrome too, in fact the whole forum seems to work a bit better in Chrome.

I'm getting a failed picture link in the heading of each post - to the right of the bar that contains the poster's name. I'm on Chrome.

This is what I see when I hit the post buttonattachicon.gifimage.jpg

I was getting a similar thing yesterday, hence my earlier post in this thread. I found that when I went away to explore the murkier depths of the new forum and returned, my post had miraculously appeared, hence the follow-up post. I am using IE8 on a desktop that is the computing equivalent of the Austin Montego. :-P
