Anybody got an idiots guide to put pictures on the site?

I have a few photos I would like to upload.

Can anybody assist?

upload your pictures to photobucket (sign up to photobucket if not already member), copy img code of the picture to your post, hey presto your lovely photo on here for us to see

I would personally avoid photobucket like the plague, Flickr seems marginally better these days.

For simplicity and speed, I'd recommend Imgur - you don't need to register or set up albums, and the display is fairly straighforward.

THIS.

I've never liked Photofukkit and unfortunately Flickr has just taken a HUGE turn for the worse, I use http://imgur.com/ exclusively these days. No signing up, dead easy to use.

Upload or drag & drop a photo onto the page, click the upload button and you're halfway there.

If the photo you've uploaded is too big for the forum (anything much over 800px wide is a bit big, this forum tends to chop bits off photos if they're too big) use the 'large thumbnail' tab circled in red. Then simply copy & paste the 'BB Code' (also circled in red) link straight onto the forum's reply box, there's no need to mess about with the forum's 'img' tags either.

End result, have a Saab 900 estate. 8)

Yes - same principle. You just need to use the cleverly-disguised Image button in the reply box which does the same as the "" button on the old one.

I like the new image button (green something in a white box),  I always struggled to get te images URL between the right charicters.

The new forum can also host photos for you but they have to be fairly small files,  if you click 'more reply options' (don't worry, you won't loose the text you've just typed) it will open a bigger reply window with 'attach files' underneath,

click 'browse' and it lets you look through the files on your computer to find the image.

If the image is too big (over 319.9 kb today) you can make it smaller by opening it in MS paint (or a proper editing program) clicking on stretch image and shrinking it down that way.  Then save it and start the attach file process again.

Then click 'add to post' and it should magically appear

Why not do things the easy way

Click "More reply options button".

Go to "Attach files"

Brouse to images you wish to upload, they will upload to board

Click add to post

I usually hit Enter between each one as it then stacks them rather than putting them across page.

Sorted.

Can anybody tell me how many pictures I'm aloud in one post? I tried to post 200ish pictures this morning only for it to tell me I had too many images.

Maximum number per post is 25.

Having 200 images in one post could make forum extremely slow for those with slower connections.

Why not upload them to Gallery with link in post

It looks like that'll have to be the way to do it, just a bit dissapointing as, I'll be honest, if a thread I'm reading links to an off forum gallery unless it is directly relevent to my interests I rarely follow that link.

Perhaps that is supremely lazy, but I also like to see all my pictures together in a thread.

Meh, I shall re-edit the thread with a couple of the better shots and a link to the gallery.
