'83 Cortina saloon. What's it worth? Now with pictures!

Well with the arrival of Moby there has to be some fleet reduction (to at least a managable level).

The car is in very good, rust free condition. Passed it's last MOT in march with no advisories and has four-ish months tax.

Currently has just shy of 86k on it but this will go up as it's in with daily use, three previous owners.

Had a full respray in 2011 (santorini black, was originally titan blue), all rot was cut out and replaced with fresh steel. Wings, upper+lower front valances were replaced with NOS genuine ford parts. Everything has been properly welded and lead loaded (not filled!)

Front cradle was rebuilt with new ball joints, recon calipers, poly bushes (lower arms, tiebars, roll bar), gas shocks all round, -1" burton springs all round, superflex axle end void bushes, cosworth lattice alloys (they split opinion, but they are the right offset and are cheap to get rubber for).

Good original blue velour interior (seat tops a little sun bleached).

Mechanically it's a 2 litre pinto (original 'lead' engine) NER code ie high compression, weber 32/36. Had a brand new 32/36 dgav fitted 2 months ago, it has accuspark electronic ignition fitted with motorcraft plugs and 8mm lumination leads, also has a custom made exhaust with a 3" tail pipe ( fairly quiet, till second choke opens :D ).

I'll put some up to date photos on tomorrow, but heres a link to my photobucket gallery. http://s1069.photobucket.com/user/MetBl ... 3&page=24#

P.S The car no longer has the gash black and silver plates fitted, it's on pressed reflective plates.

Nice but the wheels don't help it. Easy 'fix' though for someone.

I've never looked at a Cortina like yours and wanted it so much. The wheels, I could take 'em or leave 'em, though I do like Cossie alloys, but mostly when they are on Sapphire Cosworths. Good luck with the sale of this fine vehicle.
