Rod, I just realised*, that is a Joey in your profile pic isn't it? Nice.

I do feel that with the luuurve for this car it should become an Autoshite Project. I can maybe work out a garage for it for £15 a month and we can take it from there........

Plus I may have some corporate tickets for Le Mans next year. Taking it to Le Mans would be so FUCKING FULL OF WIN it would be like a cast member of Grange Hill.

*May have realised before, may also have been drunk

Thanks for all the replies, some good info. It does indeed seem to be a Countess, great detective work Talbotman.

Our current situation is that it's in our possession, on one of our mans driveway as we have no space in the workshop at the minute.

We're a charity based motor project (more info here>>>http://www.archwayproject.org/) and this Shamborghini has been given to us by it's previous owner.

I'm of course all up for keeping it and using it as some sort of on going project though it seems I'm in the minority of one here at work (and have no funds) so it may get sold on.

The base is apparently a 71 Beetle and was imported back in 82, we have the HM Customs receipt for this. The only other doc is a half completed application form for first license and declaration for registration which states it as having the 1600 lump.

I'll get our man to check the engine codes for further ID and double check the chassis number too.

That's how it stands at present, I'll keep you all posted on how it develops.

Thanks again.

You would undoubtly die in a blazing inferno!

A decision has been reached at work and this beasty is gonna go on the bay. It would be fantastic to see it become an AS group project as would I love to keep it myownself though my hands are tied what with it belonging to work rather than me. 99p no reserve has served me well many times in the past when selling my own shite and it works for us at work as we're seen to be fair and just in it's desposal.

I'll add a link here once it's all sorted, we're just double checking all the numbers and such like to make sure it's all cosher.

I'd always assumed it was a Hawking rather than Mr Deacon.

Me too.

Listed the Shambo on the bay to start tomorrow at 18:00 hours. 99p start no reserve 10 day auction so plenty of time for every man and his dog to not bother comeing to view it whilst asking lot's of inane questions and giving insulting offers. Can't wait.

Aye, going great guns. Mrs Will has just read the add and pointed out all the typos, pah never mind.

I've been contacted by a very nice chap who owns one and has sent through loads of info and pics which I need to look through. Sounds like it will be useful stuff for the next proud owner and I'm sure of interest here too. I'll keep you all posted when I've had a gander.

Hey Will, I see it's pictured on a good trailer, if there's a chance you could deliver it for a price (agreed beforehand, etc), it might be worth adding that to your listing, it could win some more bids for your good cause. Good luck with it, anyhoo.

Bloody hell, that's a right result. I hope the buyer can find their way to you okay given they must be clutching a white stick and walking behind a labrador.

Posted

Result son! I'd have expected dat ta go fo' bout 3 grand.

Do you be thinkin tha balla be a three year oldschool expect a wack ass bangin' wheels car!

Posted

Can anyone guess how much contact we've had from the *winning bidder?

Plenty of interest and some funny messages, hope we can track down a bidder who actually wants to pay cash monies for it mind.

This truly is shite beyond the realms of shite. I have to say that Autoshite ought really to close down now, as nothing can ever improve on this.

Posted

No disrespect, but who the fuck would pay 7k for that?!

As soon as I saw it creeping up in price I was thinking there was no chance of anyone stumping that up as 99.99% of all car buyers on E-Bay seem to be knobs and don't understand how an auction works.

Posted

You're quite right. I still don't know why people cannot understand the 'commit to buy' warning screen. I would guess that at least 40% of car sales fall through on ebay due to retards or dreamers. SOZ M8 MAI 2 YER OLD PRESED THE BID BUTON LOL!

It's gone. Cash in hand no messing transaction, not for 7 k mind but the 4 bags will do nicely thank you very much.

Saw it in the flesh for the first time today and it sure is a sight to behold, I'll add some more pics when I get a chance. Back soon folks.

I don't think you need to feel hard done by there.

FOUR K???!!!!!! Fooooooooookin 'ell, there's some mongs out there. I thought I was bad, but, sheesh.

Posted

Fark me. They must be fucking mad. have you checked if the money is real?

Posted

Yeah, decided they wanted it yesterday and came with a genuine 4 bags cash money today all happy and jolly. I think the guvnor has plans for the money so sadly the new bikes we had ear marked it for may not come through though it's his job to worry about the cash flow of this small project and I have complete trust in his ability to do so.

Almost anyone could own a Porsche, owning a Countess is just that bit more special. Check the pics below if you need any more proof.

I was frankly stunned today on seeing it in the real for the first time. It' the singular most striking motor vehicle I've ever seen 8)

Posted

Soz like, but the only 'striking' thing associated with that car was surely the design department in the factory.

Posted

Just stunning. Second pic down, there's a thing which looks like a Chubb lock but I can't figure out where the keyhole is.

e: I went looking on Google Images for finished kits, the first result for "Countess Kit" is this one :)

Posted

Mother flipper, I would love to meet the guy who's prepared to pay four big ones for that!!! Unbelievable.

Posted

I predict to see this back on ebay within 3 months after someone has attempted some minor bodges. 4K LOL.

Posted

Wow!

And me and M.Imp, cant get that for the 36 year old Fulvia.

Posted

I suspect that the buyer has a V5 and some tags for one of those, as there's no way on God's green earth he'd get that registered.............
