Is this the new one in Oman? I was reading about that in the Economist.

Try to keep the photos under 640 width, then they'll fit most computer screens.

Image problems are down to Photobucket I think.

Interesting pics though, I imagine that a scrapyard with sand underfoot as opposed to the traditional mud / oil / coolant / dog shit mixture to be quite a pleasant experience.

Bloody hell, rust free Land Rover bulkheads, and Range Rover tailgates!!!!

Posted

No, Qatar. I'll resize them another time. Bed beckons!

Aye, Albert! And rust free er, VIN plates...

Posted

Odd to see these things in a scrappy when they're totally fucked looking but not rusty. Guess they all die one way or another. :(

They thrash the shit out of everything....when i was i living in Munich in 1990..we went to a garage where there was a Lamborghini jeepy thingy..a Roller Corniche and a Porsche 928S...all shagged..the oil sheiker rolled them around the dunes..then flew them to Munich to be restored....then repeated his dune bashing i suppose...

One way to cure the sagging headlining :D

I bet he had the saggy headlining and he just couldn't take it anymore and went postal on it. :D

Never mind all that, go and get me the front wings off that Jag NOW.

Posted

Righto then so it's all of the RR tailgates, the Series Landy bulkheads and VIN plates, a RR bonnet and a set of Jag wings. No problem, who's first on this Pony Express run then?!

Posted

I was thinking, I remember a mate of mine saying Genuine Defender/Series wings are worth quite a bit in good order... Some of these look worth flogging on ebay, even with postage?

Posted

If you can find a pair of Series 2/2a wings, no headlights in them, 1958-1968) Ideally with vertical aux. lamp positioning, I would be interested.... off a 109 if that helps. (different inner wing curvature prior to about 1967ish.)

The poor fellow thought that taking a few pics and posting them here was a bit of fun. Now he is running a a business selling used car parts to hundreds of people :)

Aye, S2 wings in good nick will go easy peasy, especially the non-headlighty ones.

Of note, I secured a bonnet for the my mates two door and it was only 4 miles away. My pal will be well pleased. Well pleased indeed. I'll need to browse the pics again

Don't worry Stuno, there's no chance of that. Like i said this place has been cleared now, but regardless i have 't got the time to start chopping up old Landies, more's the pity.

The irony is I could probably have had what i wanted off these cars for nowt, too.
