Yeah the global market wasn't all too kind to Isuzu with the second generation Impulse or the third generation Isuzu Gemini it was based off of, the only market it was somewhat successful in was Japan but even there it was mostly the sedans that made up the bulk of sales, which sold as the Isuzu Stylus in North America (terrible name btw) and was largely a sales flop. Competing with the Mitsubishi Eclipse in the sports coupe segment the Impulse lost out unfortunately. Although, the Geo Storm GSi (basically an Impulse XS with a Isuzu PA Nero front end and no Lotus tuned suspension) sold strong despite how new the Geo brand was. Isuzu ceased car production and Geo lost it's strong selling sports coupe leaving a hole in their line-up.

A couple of years ago I came across this blue 1992 Isuzu Impulse XS which sold at GM's short lived "Passport" dealership in Canada which sold a range of Isuzu and GM products alongside GM's weird Canada exclusive "Asüna" marque which didn't stick around for very long, which sold a badge engineered version of the car called an "Asüna Sunfire" basically just a FWD Isuzu Impulse XS without the wagonback body style, only being available as a liftback. They basically didn't change anything about the car aside from badging and for only one year 1993, a year after the Impulse ceased production in 1992.

In Europe a couple of independent dealerships imported Geo's and Isuzu cars for sale on the continent with some decent success in Poland of all places. Attached below is some of the pictures, I've got one of the dealership storefront with all the Isuzu models that they imported but just can't seem to find it for the life of me.

Wow, I knew American grey imports were pretty popular in Poland (which is why there's such a large US car community today, including for some of the more unusual cars I own and love so much (my Mark VIIIs and Auroras). I had no idea Geos were sold there semi-officially though, I love that.

It's always cool seeing American cars overseas, not just because they are usually bigger than other things on the road. It's something about the styling that makes them stand out more than they ever would on their respective side of the pond.

I live in North America and I can't say I see many Lincoln Mark 8's or Aurora's anymore. I've been a bit bummed that a lot of the 80s/90s body-on-frame American cars like the Impala's, Caprice's and Roadmaster's quickly disappeared from the road here. For every ten 90's cars I see one is American, the rest Japanese. Would really like to get my hands on a "Shamu" Caprice if the price is right.

Here's a beautiful Impala SS with the best paint scheme you could option it with (in my opinion), that I spotted while at a car show recently + a Corvair! (might have some more interesting stuff to post here soon)

Ah yes, dark cherry is a good color for an Impala SS. I think I'm quite happy with my Caprice but there's always the temptation to buy one of its other siblings whenever one pops up. The guy I bought my first Aurora from had a Saudi Caprice SS rotting in his drive and had the seller of a title-less low mileage Fleetwood in a field been a little more communicative and less dodgy I would own that as well now. I'd also have a Roadmaster wagon if not every single one was trashed here in the UK. It's a real shame that what most would consider a collectible classic in Europe nowadays is just neglected and run into the ground here.

I'd happily daily either of those.

...After I un-lowered them and put the right wheels back on anyway.

Turns out my wife’s Golf is as fast as an Aston Martin ValkyrieIMG_3063.jpeg.c9db45a9f5116c40419f052077a742ef.jpeg as long as the Aston is following a white van.
