Bitter sc......................swap? Result!

Weird isn't it, and a lesson that you should never meet your heroes [let alone buy them]

After lusting after one of these for years, I took the plunge and bought one, which repayed me by being a complete pain in the arse from the minute I handed over the cash. I've ploughed the thick end of £1200 into it to get it running as it should new injector manifolds, inlet manifold gasket, injector seals, oil cooler, rear discs and pads, new rear exhaust box, door lock solenoids etc etc ..............and I just can't get on with it. It goes like a train, handles and brakes well, but................

Anyway, before I stick it up for sale, if any of you guys are interested in a swap / p/x with something, PM me .

maybe if you tell us what it is..........

It's a Bitter SC.

How's it running now and what sort of value do you put on it?

oh i see

thought he was just bitter

so its a senator coupe then

It's about as much a Senator Coupe as an MGB is a Sherpa...........oh hang on. Running well now, 3.9 straight six [stroked 3 litrs Opel cam in head engine] about 220 bhp, Interior, [yer finest magnolia cow] is pretty much immaculate. Body is solid, paint is reasonable, aircon doesn't, cental ocking is now remote plipper, only 44k on the clock, with a huge wodge of service history to confirm. Owes me about £5k, but I'll probably never see that although right hookers are bloody rare.

If our interested, I may be interested in a deal with your Audi.......which is one of my all time favourites......

It's got one......it's that rubber surround thingy, I suspect built like that for USA safety requirements, where most of these ended up

Well, after being messed about by various knobheads [including one who was going to transfer the money immediately, and then pulled out because I didn't have the original driver's handbook] this is going to auction at SWVA in Poole. Out of all the eleventy thousand cars I've ever had, this is one of the few I've never gelled with.............nowt wrong with it per se, just can't take to it. Never meet [let alone buy] your heroes!

After dropping off, going north to buy a B2 Passat. Had one years ago, and liked it, so no doubt this will be a disaster..........

At least you'll have had recent experience of a wooden, badly made, unreliable and hateful car.

Well.........knock me down with a feather. Delivered the Bitter to the auction house a couple of weeks ago, as I'd had enough of the bloody thing, and couldn't face the prospect of ebay [especially where I live............] They were not hopeful of a decent result, so suggested I shoved it in at no reserve, and took my medicine. Much to their surprise, it made £5k! Sold to someone in darkest Norway..................

That does sound like a result, nice one.

So, now you have more cash than you were expecting ... my logic says that the extra cash you got is allowed to be spent on something slightly frivolous, basically more chod ... so what's next?

"We need work doing in the kitchen".....yes dear, I'll get onto it. Returned 4 hours later with a load of brochures............and a Peugeot 406 V6 coupe which had a "for sale" sign in the windsceen at our local kitchen centre..........well, for the price of a new washing machine, and a set of mixer taps, it seemed rude not to.

Er yes....................although she's well used to it by now. Anyway, she drives a V8 Jag XJ, so she's as bad as I am!
