It appears the plate I have at home ('41-FX-25') is from 1975 if I've read the table correctly.

The green Jag XJ40s are by Matchbox. Not sure of their origin, but they are more detailed than the ordinary maroon coloured versions. See top left in photo:

 

 

The police cars are older Corgis (I think). They are Series 2 cars. Series 3 had black plastic bumpers!

 

The green Jags were available from Nestlé as a promotion on Kit Kats IIRC. Have you got any close up pictures of the extra detailing on them?

 

In regards to police Jaguars, I also have a Matchbox Super Kings Series 2 or 3 very similar to the Corgi one.

 

Do you purchase duplicates on purpose or do you buy them not realising you've already got them, as has been mentioned?

I buy most of my models from local (Bucks & Berks) carboot sales. I buy for three reasons:

 

1. I like collecting.

2. I feel like I am saving a rare model from the hands of a child (who may damage it).

3. For investment. I buy cheap and know that some of the models are worth good money.

 

I don't mind having duplicates and I don't feel that they compromise the collection.

Mazda 3 is "Produced by Gateway Global Ltd". I haven't opened the box so I can't tell you more.

 

 

The small silver BX is by Norev.

 

 

The light blue Fiat Ritmo is by Pilen, made in Spain.

 

The red Talbot Horizon is by Guisval, also made in Spain.

Hey, went for a MEGA LOFT CLEARANCE today on my rest day. Found a veritable shitload of Lledo 1:43s (including a boxed Thrust SSC I didn't realise I still had) and all my old DTM guff that I was looking for. Plus some old battered Corgis and Dinkys.

 

 

Solido \ Vitesse Renault collection. The white boggo Clio I bought when I went to Tignes skiing in 1992 with Fatha_Wat.

 

 

Solido Clio Williams. LOVED these when they came out.

 

 

Williams and Alberville 1992 edition Clio.

 

 

Solido 19 Cabrio. Bought this from the Renault showroom \ museum on the Champs Elysee in 1993 or thereabouts.

 

 

Vitesse Laguna Estate. Got this as a pressie from my dad's friend when he ran J&E on Manchester Road. Always thought the rear deck looked weird.

 

 

Minichamps 190E DTM. Went through a spate of liking the DTM stuff. This was mega cheap from Bowlers because it was unboxed.

 

 

Corgi WW Ford GT70. Has a really detailed Essex V6 mounted midships.

 

 

Corgi GT40. Bonnet and boot open. Might have had the innards painted gold at one time, doesn't look original.

 

 

4WD Tomy Beetle thing. Had this from a very young age.

 

 

Corgi Series 1 Land Rover. Thought Mr. Ross might like.

 

 

Minichamps DTM Calibra. Lost the pantograph bit on the wiper. Balls.

 

 

Onyx ETM Vectra Touring Car......

 

 

Schuco Vauxhall Vectra.

 

 

Minichamps DTM Ford Mondeo. Probably my favourite out of my touring cars, mainly for the weird livery.

It's not the first time I've been told that about the Dinky LSR. Whenever I seem to ask, it seems it's worth fuck all.I will have a browse though, cheers for the heads up.

I'm having a few issues with price on them at the moment. We ordered them at £X but they have actually arrived and have cost less than that which is nice but I'd priced everything from the order. So I need to revise prices on some of them downwards on ebay which I'm doing very shortly. Once I've done that I'll work out a new 'shiters price and let you know!

So you take good ones like the red one and deliberately make them look old and ruined? I thought you just bought them like it at auto jumbles etc for a matter of pennies (cents).

the scrappers are generally 10c up to a euro purchased just for the yard, from boot sales etc, decent one's like the red 18 will have new rims and subtle mods to make it look proper job (like the rubber windows seals, windscreen seal, number plates, it wont be trashed just made more realistic looking proper lights etc :)hence why the red 18 has minilites
