Wrong scale I know, for this discussion, but I love collecting the 1/36 Corgi Mini special editions. They are nicely made and well proportioned for a car aimed at the 'toy' market. Mint and boxed ones come up on e-bay all the time and make a nice display piece.I have: Mini 30 and accompanying 30th Anniversary Sky, Rose, Flame and Racing, Ritz, Jet Black and Red Hot, Neon and the basic City. I have a Mini 40 and a late 90's Cooper, but I really like the early 90's and 80s special edition ones.Does anyone else have any others? I believe theres an Advantage, Park lane, and Mayfair out there?

I had lots of those when I was about 7 or 8, I believe I had a couple of sets of 3 plus at least 1 single one. I got a single blue one on it's own first I think....my memories are vague as I haven't seen them for years....I'm pretty sure it was Mini Mayfair in light blue with silver coachlines.I had a set of 3 which contained Red Hot, Jet Black & one other....Ritz maybe?! In silver I think it was...That might have been all I had actually....or I might have forgotten any others!

Okay, i just won a truly shite model on the 'bay.I can put a picture up if you like but heres a summaryIts a red 1/43 Vauxhall Astramax.I didnt even know one had been made until a week ago!Slightly pricey......

Posted

I have some nice cavilers and calibrs I bought from VX. Nice Gama ones. Is the Escort a Schabak?

Posted

I need more Gama models, i only have the one, a MKIII cavalier.Yeh the escort/ orion is Schabak, I also have the estate and Hatchback versions, along with a Schabak Sierra.I presume they did dealer models for manufacturers?

Posted

I have a 1:24 Scorpio I won at Fords open day at Dunton in 1986 8) I had a 1:24 XR2 but flogged that, the Cosworths make good coin mind.

Posted

I dont know wether to get one of those scorpios or not....Are they good? The gama models frustrate me, just because i always bid on them yet never ever ever win one, they fetch seriously good money as they are pretty much the only models of the Vauxhalls/opels they did.

Posted

Scorpios good I reckon, have you searched for the Corgi/Mobil 1:26 Astras? I have quite a few... there were 6 unique models and 6 recolours, all in mobil packaging - worth a look.

Posted

Ill do my best to get one, currently watching a cheapish one.And yes i have seen them about, look pretty good and theyd fit into my corgi collection for sure.I really want a Gama Carlton, Rekford and Belmont, saw a few a couple of months back but missed out. Now I havent seen one since, typical.

heres the astramax:

I don't really have much to do with this subject, so sorry if you all know about these already.

Every now and then the highstreet cheapy shop Home Bargains has some really good offers on random models, quite often French. Supply is really sporadic as about half the shop's stock seems to be whet they were able to get cheap at the time, so best not to hang about. Anyway, I picked this up in Leeds yesterday for £2.99:

It was part of a range of French promotional Michelin vehicles and included this booklet talking about the J7 - in French of course:

There was also a yellow Renault 4 van with a M. Bibendum on the roof, a large twin wheeler Renault/Saviem in yellow with Bibendum too, a white DS break (looked like a test vehicle), a Fourgonette in same livery as the J7 and something small, old (poss pre-war) and black - perhaps a Peugeot. Perhaps some more too but I was in abit of a hurry.

hmmmm havent bought one since that astramax, anyone got any for sale?I have my bid on a Omega 3000, the opel equivalent of the Lotus Carlton.Sounds like an 80s pc.....

I thought it could be a mistake as well, but he explains it in the item description. Its to make sure he gets his moneys worth from the item apparently!Surely not allowed, if he cant handle ebay, he should not use it.I got one for a fiver from modelzone.

Well he'll surely get no bids then in that case. Or only 1 bidder at the most or it won't be financially viable for them!

Looks like a suitably shitty destination. I'd love to visit it in real life!

I'd like to see a disclaimer that no models were harmed in the making of this though! :o
