A great big pile of shite - my first post on autosh*te!

I've been enjoying reading this forum for far to long - thought it was about time I made a contribution! :D

As you can probably guess my main passion is Fords although I'm quite partially to anything that's old and sh*te! I am firm believer that old motors should go out with a bang! :P

If I had a pound for all the shite I've seen I'd be a millionaire, it' not always easy to take photos without getting strange looks from people but here's an interesting selection none the less!

Nearly bought this MK3 Tina for racing

You wait for ages and 3 come along at once - the bus on the far right is probably unique in having carried the old Division 1 Cup and FA Cup on victory parades :D

WOW!,that must be the Worlds biggest ever 1st post :P .Great pics though,I've been past that tank & those 2 giant tug things a few times.I guess a lot of the locations are Banger Yards?

Posted

Great first post, love the Austin 3-litre peeking out.

Posted

Not one banger yard in there - I wouldn't post pictures of my friends yards up anyway although they do have some very interesting stuff.

You must have a real knack for finding stuff then :)

If someone ever decides to make an Autoshite calendar, that shot should be in there.

Great pics, shame about the GTA  Where in the world did you spot that then? Nice use of Duck Tape

Excellent 1st post brilliant spost! I wish I could stumble on these scenes! Love the Parisienne 132 :D:D

Posted

Great photos....thanks for sharing. Can't believe those huge army land/water things are just left to decay.....would have loved to stumble across those.

Posted

Great Stuff! Also intrigued by the GTA, rare to see something so once expensive held together by so much tape:)

Thank you for sharing your lovely holiday snaps with us, fordnut. It's been seen here before, but hope you like this:

Brilliant selection of photos there! And welcome aboard :D

Wonderful stuff - love the Amphicar, was that in Paris too?

Posted

Very very impressed.I think we need to try and start an Autoshite Hoard for future generations to discover. I know of a field we can dump some cars in, we could start it off with a minimetro for Pog seeing as he loves them so much...

Posted

The GTA was in a remote part of Wales - I won't say where mind you as I want the RS2K that was next to it although I believe both were awaiting restoration. The amphicar is in Paris and has been for several years, you can see Cleopatra's Needle in the background if you look closely enough.Like the Cortina Karmann Ghiaman - GR8 4 LOTUS CORTINA REPLICA!retrogeezer - there used to be a hell of a lot more interesting stuff in Tipner it's slowly being cleared for redevelopment particularly as the price of scrap is so high at the moment. 3 Nuclear Subs and a few rocket launchers only a few years ago!

Was that on the right hand side of the M275 on the way into Portsmouth near the landfill site? There used to be a lopsided sub looking quite life expired in the harbour on one side of the motorway & on the other side near the dog track some old military gear, tanks, troop carriers also looking quite dead. All looked rather eerie, the sub certainly gave mum the creeps whenever we drove past as all rusting shipwrecks etc do!
Posted

Which, the bit where the sub was or the other side by the dog track where the derelict military stuff was?

Posted

Amazing- I'm just as impressed as every one else! Be interested to know the time scale these shots represent- all taken in the same week, or the same decade? Corsair estate must be ultra rare. Wingless wonder is a Riley RM, and I was wondering if the CPATC was another one?

Posted

hi fordnut, i notice many of the cars have west wales reg's. that scrapyard with the bond is the one in aberystwith if i am not mistaken also has 2 morris isis in there altho 1 of them was only just visable under a pile of copper when i was there over 10 years ago :? - bond hasm't chainged that much tho recognised the missing door/ roof pillar on the left hand side. -aled

Posted

You are a correct Aled, it's a real treasure trove there, no Morris Isis when I went although there has been some interesting stuff through that yard. There are remnants of really really old stuff pre 1930s if you look hard enough. There are quite a few pictures from the West Wales area as I used to live in Aber.CPTC is probably another RM. Shots have been taken over a period of the last 5 years although the pictures were only taken over a few days.

Posted

in the middle of aber there is a landlocked woolsey 1500, just outside i have found a lancia intergrale turbo in white with all the correct stripes and very low milage, ford zephur, hillman husky(imp), daimler ?, scimitar all in different locations, but i do agree that yard is a real gem if you hack through the brambles who knows wot you will find.
