nisfan Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Yeah loving it already, love the looks of WTF is that? Drives really well for what it is. The owner of Waxwing autobrakers even commented on it and hes seen a lot of shite. Will be getting moted next month once i deal with the mot fails that happened in october.I thought i couldn't beat my old U11 Bluebird for sheer gifferness but this beats it
kinkersaab Posted December 12, 2012 Author Posted December 12, 2012 Yay! am so happy this old thing is still giving pleasure. I loved it for the short while it was in my hands.
DodgyBastard Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 I'm now the proud owner of Le Turd, here's some recent pics... I've been using it just about every day for work, it returns around 48mpg. I replaced the wing with one I got from field of dreams, The original steels will be getting some winter tyres and it'll be getting used as a winter barge. I have a feeling the welder will be coming out in spring... Sigmund Fraud, Wilko220, HillmanImp and 4 others 7
Mr Livered Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 The pictures are really good, like them very much.
In The Pit Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Glad its still about, classic diesels are a great idea but theres not that many to choose from as diesel cars didn't really take off til the nineties.
CortinaDave Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Great car this - surprisingly nice to drive too. Brilliant that its still around and loved.
DodgyBastard Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 After being pulled over by the traffic cops for a random stop I decided the unwanted attention was probably down to having a number of different colour panels fitted so I decided to paint the car all the same colour... Yes, we used a roller and brushes to paint the car olive drab, the finish isn't great but I'm very happy with the look and colour of the car now... Now it looks like a tank as well as driving and sounding like one. Bucketeer, HillmanImp and oman5 3
Jim Bell Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 I did not think that this car could get any better. But it just did. If you ever want to sell it, sell it to me please. tooSavvy 1
tooSavvy Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 I did not think that this car could get any better. But it just did. If you ever want to sell it, sell it to me please.UberMonngerr... & olivedrab...much wantage [of such Auto$hite credd...]. tooSavvy
DodgyBastard Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Some recent pics of Le turd As you can see I absolutely love fucking up cars, Sadly I managed to run over a load of nuns and kittens after I chopped the springs... vulgalour and derskine 2
vulgalour Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 You have applied many of the dubRennermong things to this car and yet I don't find myself hating it because it looks rather smart. Also, if you hadn't taken it on I daresay it wouldn't still be trundling about.
MrDuke Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 True, and nothing done so far is irreversible, not that I don't think it looks great as is. Even the Wellers (pet hatred of mine) look OK.
DodgyBastard Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 At the end of the day everything I've done to the car could be reversed... The car was a bit of a shed when I got it, I could've had it resprayed and spent £££'s on it but would there have been much point in wasting loads of money on a £100 car that nobody wanted? I've had fun with the car, done loads of miles and have enjoyed driving it daily. It may not be everyone's taste but wouldn't it be boring if we all liked the same things?
DodgyBastard Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Do like. Hows the roll-on holding up fella? It's quite durable and a lot better than poundland spray cans, I might have to give it a touch up in places but that would mean washing it... aldo135 1
UmBongo Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 It looks good in dat colour. Must keep an eye out for it on the road, bronze.
scooters Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 When you are ready to sell it again, I'll buy it and we will put it through our paint shop - soda blast the paint, sort any rust and repaint in original colour. We're only over the water
DodgyBastard Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 After selling this a few months ago I've ended up buying it back, I've missed it's sofa like seats and second gear crunch and it still has the same musty oppressive smell... Mr Livered, HillmanImp, Cavcraft and 6 others 9
Volksy Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 That's marvelous. When it comes up for sale again I might be interested!
DodgyBastard Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Put even more betterer wheels on it too, I see. Unfortunately, I'm not keeping the wheels and I've sold the wellers so I'll have to put the speedlines on...
nisfan Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 I will miss it, you know you are winning at life when the newest car in that photo is a d reg volvo!
vulgalour Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 I know a man selling a set of Centras that were formerly on a Honda Prelude if they'd tickle your fancy.
DodgyBastard Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 The Bluebird belongs to the previous owner of the 18, the photo was taken on his driveway over the weekend. More pics?
