Some spots I spotted on the way to Barcelona

I've mentioned this charity rally I was doing to Barcelona before but it went down like a potato and shite sandwich so I won't bother with the details other than saying it was very enjoyable and some French toilets must contravene the Geneva convention.

I did however spot some grade A shite on the way I thought you lot might be interested in.

My first spot of the trip is this tidy 244DL Volvo

Next up was this lovely Alfa Romeo Giulia spotted north of Paris.

I just about dropped my Jambon when I spotted this. It looked mint and was a VM 2400 diesel. It also had a lovely brown leather interior.

The owner looked bemused by given then the thumbs up by two Scottish twats in a daft looking car. Also features Bonus 505 estate

We eventually came off the motorway and I spotted this shite load of shite. I made Kenny spin around and go back so I could get more snaps. It was worth it.

Mk1 Transit shite.

Breath it in. Peugeot 605, Mk1 Fiesta, Lancia Delta, Rover 200

7.jpg

Ibiza and Y10

10.jpg

CX and DS ambulances plus bonus Rover 800

Renault 4 and Mk1 Espace. Also seems to be an Early Civic and Horizon in there.

A rusty Fuego

Hidden Simca

Mk2 Fiesta getting a-framed to it's holidays.

Todays twizy is tomorrows Aixam.

827i Sterling. Got stopped by le-fuzz 3 times for some reason.

One of the other teams Citroen C5 with an appropriate escort. It'd done 190k with just one previous old giffer owner.

It did however keep cutting out and going into limp home mode, which means they had to keep stopping and starting it every 100 miles or so.

Excellent stuff. SD Turbo is wonderful. Looks like the weather picked up a bit for you, too.

It was like a wet Glasgow Wednesday at the millau viaduct but an extra 45 minutes south towards Barcelona and it was lovely,

Looks like you had fun....Would love to do something like that myself someday 8)

Love the Citroen Ambulances, and rather concerned about the C5 (See my own thread elsewhere!) :?

2 800 Sterling in the same post that aint from me!

The first Sterling , looks a shame to be sitting there, probably not ling for this world.

The second Sterling? Who, when where etc... and did it make its way back Barcelona?

To be fair the lads in the C5 said it was really comfy and probably used half the fuel our Honda did. It went into limp home when they pushed the throttle at low revs. The system tells the system to allow some extra boost but some sensor or other was knackered and it went into limp mode. If they kept the revs up it didn't cut out.

The Rover sterling pissed it other than not going into reverse now and again. It sounded a bit tappy in the morning but other than that it was fine.

Seriously, if the Sterling makes it back and is offered for sale, I may find myself down a bit of money in my bank account

Honestly, if it is offered for sale, I shall stick up an advert on the R800 site.

It's back as I drove onto the ferry behind it. It's being auctioned along with all the other cars at BCA Blackbushe (surrey?) next Thursday or Friday.

Cheers Cort, will post up the details on the R800 forum.

Gr6 snaps there.

I think the old Civic may be either a Mk1 Accord or an early Mazda 323.

Great stuff!

Great spot of the SD1 with the diesel. Surely that driver must know he has summit special, even if it is only 90 odd HP?

An SD1 doesn't stay looking like that without putting some effort in. I'm guessing more SD1 dizzlers got sold on the continent than here as they seemed to adopt the use of the nasty stuff earlier than us.

When I first saw it, I thought it was a Toyota Celica Liftback, circa about 1980, but now you mention it, yeah, I think it's an Accord hatchback too! :)

Pourquoi? A M8 and I drove across Euro land 3500 miles last year and didn't get stopped once by any country's cinq-0. Even entering/leaving Switzerland we were just waved through :?
