Saw it twice today! Latterly followed it along Queens Road. It's a 1.3 rather than the ultra rare 930 Gimp engined miser model.

Wow! Can't remember the last time I saw one of these on the road, they've all but disappeared. :(

Looks like a real giffer-mobile judging by the two occupants, good on them for sticking with the car they probably bought brand new 24 years ago rather than swapping it for some hateful Korean box.

Great love those, my mum had a red one on a W reg a 1.6 GL (it still is her favorite car that shes owned).

Excellent spot. 8)

Talking of Sheffield motorists and Rootes cars, I wonder if Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker still has his 1970s Hillman Imp? He was still driving it even after the success of the 'Different Class' album. :)

I agree, but if they bought it new, wouldn't it have been 32/33 years ago?

That is superb. It's been years since I've seen a boggo Sunbeam on the road. I've only ever had one, and that was a 928cc job - was in surprisingly good nick having only done 23,000 miles from new, but painfully slow (77 flat out, and outgunned by a DI Transit on acceleration). Bought for a tenner from the local auction - those were the days.

:lol: That'll teach me to talk on the phone while trying to figure out how old a 79 on a V car is!

I also saw a Sunbeam on Eccleshall Road on Saturday. Black one, DAC 40Y I think..... Not quite the boggo spec one though, this was the Lotus. One of the last ones built.

Thanks Wilco 220 and Hillman Imp. What a shame. :(
