Long shot BUT !

Does anyone have a low insurance group* car for sale ?

Have a maximum price of upto £800, it doesn't have to be old or interesting, but a valid MOT and a short bit of Tax would be helpful.

Anything with a shit crash/security rating is gonna be dearer to insure i.e Corsa ( I should know )

You just have to keep looking, it's a right good* way to spend hours and hours. Gumtree, eBay, Retro-Rides, Autoshite, various other forums (one make or not), free papers, the works.

As stupid as this sounds my wifes x plate 1.0 corsa envoy. Basic trim 3 cylinders and 55bhp was more to insure than the 135 bhp 03 plate vectra she has now.

Look for stuff that the hooded mongs wouldn't touch with a barge pole. Old giffer stuff like Perduas, Suzuki R wagons, Hyundai [i think] Atoz, that kind of thing.

Corsas and Saxos and the like are hell to insure due to all the teenage twunts who crash them all the time. A lad I worked with a couple of years back insured a then new-shape Laguna for less than he was getting quoted for a 1.0 Coarser after he'd passed his test.

Go for the more left field choices and not necessarily the smallest ones either.
