I found this forum this week which seems to have a bit of R25 action on it

http://www.prv-concept.com/forum/index.php

Cheers, shame it's all in foreign-speak but I'll have a go browsing anyway.

So with your weakness for French barges can I tempt you with this one Phil?! It's got a towbar too.

If anyone has sent me a Pm about this today can they send it again, as it says I've a new one but can't seem to see it, cheers.

Have you tried deleting some of the old posts in your inbox. That might help, sometimes you can reach the limit of your inbox storage and whilst you can receive a new PM, you cant read it until old posts have been deleted.

Thanks Lord Sterling, that worked :)

There might be something Austin-Rover shaped joining the fleet soon. So to make room, £250 to an AS regular? I'll pop the 25 on C&C next week, and maybe Ebay just for a laugh.

£250!? This is getting silly

OK then, £251. Much more sensible :D It'll probably sell on Ebay for around £400 I reckon, but can I be arsed? An extra £150 would be useful of course, but the pain of getting it, mmm not sure...

I'm rubbish at making money on cars, would rather sell to a decent chap than bugger about eeking out the maximum return.

That's ludicrously cheap! I was mightily impressed with it at Shitefest. Unfortunately I can only add to the "if my dog hadn't eaten my homework" mob in saying GLWTS and hope it finds a good home.

Also thanks for reminding me of CATS Eyes, I used to like that show when I was a kid. Forgotten about the third one but now I've Googled her I remember I thought she was the fittest one!

I've only just seen this thread. I'm almost tempted!! Those of you who've been Autoshite regulars for a long time will know of my obsession with these cars. I still think they represent the best value "luxury" motoring available! Superbly comfortable (amazed you say you don't find it comfortable!) and, contrary to popular belief, amazingly reliable, especially in 8 valve manual form. I have 2 TXEs, though sadly one of them has just died (autobox failure) after 7 years of virtually faultless motoring. If anyone fancies a project, it's available!! Ha ha!! Or, if anyone knows the whereabouts of a good AR4 box going cheep?!!

OK, at £251 you have my undivided attention, how far south and east of London are you? I don't actually NEED it which is probably an excellent reason for buying it. Hopefully it has a better heater than the Safari as it would be useful to use in the dark days of winter.

I can't believe how cheap oldish chod is now. I punted on the white Corolla for £250 to my mate after she cooked her more elderly one in traffic, then took her one in PX and punted it on through RR for £200. Meant I could pay H.Imp the full amount for the Audi GAS barge. Which is now off the road.. I should have stuck with the white corolla, as my mate decided to rear end it into a tree......

Now sold, after bunging it on C&C and gumtree last week. I cocked up a bit though and events transpired tonight so that two potential buyers turned up at more or less the same time  Got £300 quid for it and the guy buying on behalf of his mate was a bit of a character, so that provided an element of entertainment to the processs. Not got time at the moment to piss about with wasters so I've been lucky with this one.

Well that's a relief really, when I made my offer I hadn't considered the fact that my certificate of no claims bonus has probably expired (do they have a timespan?) and I was worried that Footman James wouldn't consider it to be a classic whereas I do. :)

DSdriver - NCB expire after two years of not using hem, and FJ did class the 25 as a classic when it was on my policy ... moot point now as it's sold.

Glad it's gone Rob, I was half tempted to ask if you'd swap it for an automatic Maestro

As for two punters turning up at once, I try to arrange my viewings for two people at the same time, half of them usually don't turn up .. If they both turn up then I find they haggle less as I have someone else interested; standing next to them ;)

That'd be weird, driving up to the Cambridge services to do another swap but this time you taking it back

I half-apologied by expecting one of them to drop out anyway, but such is life. My motivation has dropped off for buying anything else though, so I'll just run the Montego for another winter (fingers crossed!) and build the funds up.

Useful info, thanks. I have about six months to buy something purely with the object of preserving my full no claims. Or is that going to cost more than letting it slide?

Hi,

Do you still have this car?

Have you got a contact number?
