Last job of the night. My boss and I had to cut it free and winch it onto our trailer. It's fate is not yet known. It has an Alpina steering wheel and what looks to be an M tech bodykit. Don't know much more but I'll add some pics tomorrow.

It's a thing of beauty. It was always meant for breaking, unless by some miracle it's an Alpina. I'm glad the decision isn't in my hands. I know it would be put away for later if I owned it. Last taxed in 2000 and all four tyres had air in them still. Brakes siezed though (were). Windscreen has been through some while so the floor's probably gone.

I loved my old E28, even though it was just a humble 520i, it was a fabulous car. :D

Good man, it was obviously taking up valuable bramble space and I am sure it will be of some use to someone.

+1 on the love-in for these, i had a 1982 520i, 185k on the clock, cost me the grand total of £250 in 1998. Had a gearbox issue - wouldn't go into 5th - and was pretty "worn". Did a oil and filter change (free due to calling in a favour), and smoked it about for 6 months before OMG MOT PHAIL on stuff that i really couldn't be arsed to do. Flogged it for £250. Free motoring. Would have another tomorrow if i had time, space, my granny's pet iguana didn't have gingivitus etc etc...

Aye, the fun bit will be valeting it =)

The general consensus this morning is that it's quite solid but needs some new sills. It's looking like it's going to hit ebay once we've applied for the V5C, I text the reg to 8 something or another and got back "no DVLA or police record found..."

You sure it's a 528i as it's got an m535i body kit on it? It also looks like it's got e28 M5 BBS wheels on it.

If it's got leather recaros then welcome to cha-ching ville.

I've had a few e28's and they're great cars but they rot like buggery and the wings are getting increasingly hard to come by.

That really doesn't look as bad as I'd expected for something that's been OTR since 2000. Looks savable. :D
