Oh, THAT Citroen-loving Jim! Elllo!

Hi Ian!

Haha, yep that's the one! I missed la vie en bleu this year as it clashed with my Dad's birthday. I realised my rear wheel bearings were absolutely shagged shortly after that photo.

DSDriver - Wheels have made a huge difference, mine had corroded terribly on the inside as well, it was quite scary - kept expecting them to fall into two pieces when pushing it round corners. For the replacements, despite being brand new, I've applied an extra 3 coats of paint front and back, plus thoroughly waxoyled the crevices to try and make these ones last a bit longer - they might make a couple of months before they start bubbling up! Can you lead me to any pics of your DS, I've got an unnatural lust for them, especially the safari.

Nice tip about waxoil on the wheels, I had mine powdercoated in the Medway towns, if anyone local is looking for somewhere they can pm me. Here's a pic from my flickr site.

The pound shillings and pence numberplate is a family heirloom and the location is very posh and not mine.

Welcome along - I love your first post.

The picture of your Acadiane cornering is a contender for the Autoshite Calendar thread - amazing!

Oooo **rubs thighs**

They're beautiful! Are you going to Harrogate this weekend?

With my wheels I just laid them flat and dribbled waxoyl in and left in the sun for a bit in the hope it'd go some way to helping, no doubt it'll all dribble out again when the wheels get warm, but it's worth a try.

I think that Sirion is the future quite frankly, it's like a giant charm bracelet.

Does look like fun - to be honest any field I can put my tent and sit with a bottle of whiskey surrounded by old metal and I'm happy. Harrigate does look a little formal, but I've never been to an ICCCR rally so thought I'd go, a fair few 2cvers are going so it will definitely be entertaining!

All of this! I get the feeling that the BX folks are going to be good fun too. Wonder which club can attract the most frowns!

I have only been camping once at a Traction Owners Club event in the 1970s, two adults/one small child/one medium spotty dog in a two person ridge tent. I awoke with a terrible hangover and it rather put me off sleeping in fields.

Yeah...

I once indulged a little too much in someone's home-made elderflower wine (Ian - have you ever had the chairbear's wine?) it tasted delicious, however I was seen the next morning darting across the field doing my best impression of a sprinkler.

Didn't put me off though - I just pack more water and ibuprofen as time goes on.

I've not tried the chair's wine, but my wife makes a mean (and slightly explosive) elderflower champagne!
