kinkersaab Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 any use to anyone? Same owner last 9 years, i sold it to him, and knew previous owner. Newer model, in silver with full grey leather. 110k, interior A1, no warning lights on, mot feb2012. a few knocks and scrapes to corners, but presentable and perfectly usable. pics to follow when i find camera.
kinkersaab Posted August 4, 2012 Author Posted August 4, 2012 Drives A1, really couldnt fault. number plate comes with car, GR9 if you're called Dod.
Guest Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 Not for me - but are they really this cheap these days . Love the coat hanger aerial (very 1970's).
cort16 Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 I think the coat hanger brings it down to our level. I don't suppose it's got any tax on it? I'm looking for something similiar for this charidy banger rally I'm doing but taxing it would push it way over my budget.

eddyramrod Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 I'm impressed that these are finding our level now. My mate was recently offered a 97 model, also silver, to replace his 96 BMW 525. I'd have gone for it but he chickened out. This is about as modern as I would want to go; this or an S-Type maybe. Anyway it's academic at the moment, so GLWTS. Banger rally? Ideal, I'd have thought.
kinkersaab Posted August 4, 2012 Author Posted August 4, 2012 no tax, i can however tax on my insurance. I would drive it anywhere. The AC is ice cold, the stereo is ace, and the cruise works. for a charity thing i may be persuaded to contribute to a tax disc. let me know soon though, as i am away to fill it with petrol after work, and it wont be going with that in it. have just given the interior a good clean, it is amazing. like a 2 year old car.
trigger Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 This looks a total bargain, I'd love to buy even if to try it out for a few months before selling it on again for the same money.
skattrd Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 Must resist, looks gr9.9, but I'm just trying to come to terms with running da Volvo. Cort16 - buy it for your rally, tax it, flog the number plate, cash the tax in when you get back. Even if you only net £100 from the number plate its worth doing and brings the car nearer budget.
kinkersaab Posted August 4, 2012 Author Posted August 4, 2012 have some post cleaning interior shots to wet your apetites.
cort16 Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 The car needs to be sold for the charity at the end so we couldn't cash the tax in without looking like right miserable sods. We're having a meeting about it on Monday so I'll bring up the budget then.
AnthonyG Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 At your meeting, perhaps point out that something like this Lexus is a lot more likely to sell than your average 150K 10 year old repmobile? Good pub landlord car for a start. Replace Lexus badges with Jaguar ones for the Al Murray wannabes .
Lord Sterling Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Wow! I would for that money. I must admit though, I like the previous model GS, it just looked sharper, but I certainly wouldnt think twice about getting this. Sadly, as per bloody usual, I have nothing in form of spending money. Good luck with sale and all that
The Reverend Bluejeans Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 I like that. It's the best of both worlds- lovely to drive, probably totally reliable and you would never get emotionally attached to it. Minimum maintenance and run it till it goes pop. 600 quid - Christ.
Volksy Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 If I was looking for a replacement for the Corolla I'd be all over this, I'm totally converted to Toyota as my dailys after many years running Swedes. this is after all a posh Toyota. Having got the Sera from Kinkersaab, I can vouch that his description of the car will be spot on too.
Largactil Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Probably a bit late, but I'm passing through Aberdoom on Tuesday afternoon / evening, and will be heading southbound to London on Saturday. If any of the southern lot fancied this, I could possibly help out...
kinkersaab Posted August 5, 2012 Author Posted August 5, 2012 'tis still available and would be a lovely drive down the road.
kinkersaab Posted August 17, 2012 Author Posted August 17, 2012 ok Gents, have done about 1200 miles in this old thing, no issues what so ever, anyone want to give me £500? Have bought yet another Subaru so space needed.
