thanks for all the replies about Fiat ,

just always seems awaste to see a complete (rare) car fed straight in the shredder as somebody is probably looking for parts if nothing else

Why was the R11 raced, it looks like it was okay?

Exactly!! Why would you do that?
in my defence on letting my son race the R11 ,twice recently 11s have been mentioned on here and i offerd the (then taxed and motd ) silver 11 for sale at £125 with no takers

apart from os dshaft noise it was all ok but with 120,000 miles hardly desirable or unique ?

recent experience of Ebay put me off trying to sell it so kept mirrors for Ratdat ( plus some other spares )

ultimately it all comes down to the fact that there are more borderline cars out there than people with the time and ability to rescue them all

would you rather i had kept R11 and scrapped the R25 V6 Limo ?

I know where you're coming from Mr-Reno. I've offer almost everything I get before it's get crushed. Some you win, some you lose and at least you had the decency to offer it up first.

Arrgh! Scrapping an E3. That's just wrong.

(Although they do rot like fuck, and cost too much to restore..)

I thought that was a sad sight too. Not many left on the road now - when did you last see one in use? I'm expecting my E23 to develop similar rarity the way fuel prices are going. Not rarity value, though. Must get round to fixing it!Oh, and Regie - lift a corner of your 146, and guess what you'll find? (Hint: I was recently amused to find 'Fiat' stamped into my 156's upper wishbones)

Much easier than that, the VIN plate under the bonnet says Fiat Auto or something on it!

My garage owning mate got given a Volvo 265 estate with A123 PUG on it two or three years ago, it might even had had a MOT - mind you, the car is not exactly road legal anymore :( .
