Having to log in every visit to Autoshite?

Having to do this everytime - does anyone get it? On home/laptop/phone and work PC. :(

Think forum needs an upgrade.

Strange...seems OK here, no need to log in each time. Have you changed any PC settings (cookies etc)?

No, it's on 4 different machines, so don't think it's singled out to settings. I am using Firefox though.

Most bizzare, this is the only forum I read where I don't have to log in every five minutes. It must be something to do with our individual computers.

Using Firefox and IE on two different machines, both log me in okay and stays logged in. :?

I have no problems with Firefox. Have you tried deleting the cookies for this site?

I have to log in occasionally on the iPhone, but on the home pc it's about once a month. Which I can live with.

There have been changes in the ways websites store cookies on your PC recently which has fecked up a couple of sites. I couldn't log in at all on one site using Firefox until I sussed out what the problem was.

Try this..Click menu, then tools, options, privacy, and see if it says "remember history". If it doesn't, select that and try again. (Assuming you're using Firefox, obviously)

I use a lot of different PC's and never normally have an issue with AS apart from my own laptop running IE - but that laptop acts like it's possessed at times (it's on Vista).

I've had more weird issues with Vista on that unit than anything else but I can't be arsed to re-format and start fresh...

I also have to log in every time. It keeps me logged in everywhere apart from Autoshite and I can't figure out why - it's very annoying!

I'm another Firefox user. I've tried clearing the history, removing cookies, adding and removing Autoshite from the passwords list, ticking and unticking 'Log me in each time', ticking 'remember me' and more I've forgotten about. I assumed it must now be a setting at Autoshite's end, but maybe not?

Here's another suggestion then...

Do the "Menu/tools/options/privacy" thing I suggested earlier but instead of selecting "remember history", select "use custom settings for history" and a couple of new options will appear.

Make sure the "accept cookies from sites" box is ticked, then click "exceptions" and you'll see a list of sites and whether they allow or block cookies. Have a look for http://www.autoshite.com and if it's set to "block", type the web address into the search box and unblock it.

If that doesn't work I'm all out of ideas.

That's weird, I just clicked on my email update link and had to login this time....probably just coincidence.

Not that either, SH, unfortunately. Thanks for the suggestion.

In fact, unless I log in before I start opening threads in tabs, I have to log in EVERY time I reply. Summink's not right somewhere.

Is your browser set to clear history/cookies on closing?

I have been using Firefox, Opera and Chrome on Vista until yesterday and the only time I have had to log in was after running CCleaner or deleting private data.

Installed Ubuntu Precise Pangolin last night and using Chromium, no need to log in after the first time.

I had a similar problem. I found there was nothing more annoying that having to get a log out halfway through a visit to Autoshite. I got around this by buying an iPad - I can just take it with me now.

myglaren: no, and it works fine on all the other forums I use :(

Hmmm :(

Have you considered using another browser?

Opera or Chrome f'rinstance.

I had a lot of niggles with Opera. It would drop the connection frequently for this and several other sites.

Never have a problem with Chrome or Chromium.
