Love that last pic of the cutaway Scimitar SE5A - amazing how close the engine is to the back of the dashboard - glad I never hit anything driving mine!

Some of the other pics are *ahem* most interesting too!

Agree with you on the Scimitar "packaging tour-de-force"!... Can you elaborate on your *ahem*?... ;)

These are incredible, thanks so much for sharing them. Any idea who took them? Judging by the lack of crowds in some of the earlier years they appear to have been taken during the press days before it was opened to the public.

Obviously my eye is drawn to the 'weird stuff', so it's great to see the Monicas and the Aquila. Monteverdi stand is great too, with Les Leston's little 'hut' wedged in the back! The most interesting thing there is probably the Siva S530 though. I'm sure most of us can remember the Matchbox Siva Spyder toy? Well, that's its little brother!

Absolutely fabulous! The Aquila looks great. Is that Valerie Leon on the bonnet of the Beemer??

I have searched in vain for photos of the Datsun stand at the 1968 London Motor Show as I am trying to find out if my car was an exhibit and also which version of the 130 Cedric was shown.

If anyone finds any, shout up!

Lovely photos Shahin, You done well to get those!, I like the Leyland SRV2 photos, I scanned a autocar feature about that recently but my favorite has to be the Avenger 2 door in the Talbot racing colours, how cool is that!, I love to have a classic Avenger in that livery to take to shows.

That's what I thought - someone on here has as their avatar a photo of her sitting on the bonnet of an Austin 1100/1300 with a VL 1 numberplate, so she is clearly Someone We Can Do Business With.

Ah, the days when British marques could fill an entire hall.........

Yes indeed those days are long gone!...

Fantastic pics, have decided I really was born about 15 years too late.

Thanks so much for hosting them properly on Flickr, and not banging them on Ebay for a tenner like most would do. Really makes me wish I had owned a decent camera back in the day instead of a 110 instamatic. Did you take them, buy them or find them in a junk sale?

Is that her for sure?!!!... I can't believe BMW had to "whore out" her just to get some attention over their E9!... The car doesn't need a slut on the bonnet, it is beautiful as is!
