Interior is very reminiscient of the Lexus range:

I liked this little detail - just a regular looking mirror until you stick the car in reverse...

Here's some Yanky shite that was behind the car:

I'd much rather have the Oldsmobile than the Toyota.

That centre console stack, with it's early 90's Panasonic Midi-system HVAC graphics is laughable. The rapid journey to shite status is inevitable.

I quite like that, in fact I like it more than I like any Lexus. Looks like a cross between a Cadillac CTS and a 7 series.

Is it just me or are Lexuses (Lexi?) the least appealing of all the posh barges? Every one I've ever been in has just felt so "Datsun-y" inside. I know they're supposed to be "OMG Jap = reliable" and all that but much as I tried I just couldn't bring myself to want one. :?

Anyway, is that Toymota on sale here?

Yeah, I have to admit I disliked the stereo arrangement - sounded fantastic with great bass etc. but half the time you couldn't read the display due to reflected light and the right hand button/rotary control was too far away from the drivers seat to safely change the settings on the satellite radio.

I was a very smooth comfortable ride...

I think the Avalon is the Toyota "Buick" for the Seniors.

Spot on. Even the TV ads for it are designed to appeal to old people.

After watching I noticed this review:

Looks like a poor man's BMW 5 series...

I think the Toyota is the nicer looking of the two

Yeah, I'd drive the Toyota out of that pair too.

I wonder if 5 series drivers go around wondering why nobody'll let them out of side roads, or why everyone gives them the wanking.gif gesture?

Looks a bit like a Phaeton from the side but without the nice proportions and proper sized wheels.

As said, instant shite credentials, I like the look of it
