MOAR AUSTIN 1300 TAT!

I thought i'd get in on the Austin 1300 action by taking a few pics of my own example. I bought it a month or so ago and have had a new inner and outer N/S sill fitted, along with a load of welded repairs to the floor area, the O/S sill had already been replaced and it's now a very solid shell. Frong wings look great, as do the trumpet sections on the inner wings. There is still the odd patch needed in the boot, along with alot of filler work needed to smooth out where the new panels have been welded in.

Anyway, here's a few pics...

As more observant shiters will notice that it needs one or two items to complete. My Boll kindly donated a bonnet to start the ball rolling with finding bits to finish off this big 3d jigsaw puzzle, I'm yet to pick up the doors, bootlid and rear axle from the seller but hope to do that quite soon. First job will be smoothing out all those welded repairs, fitting the rear axle to get it rolling and basically putting the sucker back together again! I have tracked down a scrap donor for all the other bits, but need to make room before I collect it.

The engine and autobox is an unknown quantity, I'm going to convert it to manual as autos have a reputation for being a bit rubbish. I may get it all running to see what it's like though.

MORE TO FOLLOW..... eventually.

Top effort! Looks pretty solid actually - good luck with the reassembly...

Is that lift MOT exempt, then?

No, I haven't had chance i'm afraid! Fingers crossed I can get over next weekend or something.

I love these cars, my first was a white 1300 (VTC 263H). Really do love em.

But by the gods, they rust for fun. I dont envy you at all.
