To be fair that cost is probably about double in present value terms so near enough £3000 per month today may well be the going rate? Or have you substituted a £ for a $ symbol? Either way the past and present values should still apply (roughly).

 

Back in '96 I was paying £750 per month for a 3 bedroom flat (@700 sq ft!) in Hong Kong, which was bloody expensive coming from the UK but oh so cheap by comparison to the rest of the area. This was out in the New Territories (Tuen Mun) but the going rate round there was £1000 per month at the time. Great times of course

Wow. Some of those are beautiful; others are truly foul. Some people just don't know when to stop with the chrome and the big wheels, do they? I found myself longing for a bit of rust and lacquer peel - you can start to understand how the rat look thing came about. Almost. Anyway, Buick Riviera for me please.

Well the shite spotting was fairly crap this weekend but there's a lot of old shite over in Berkeley, however parking was a problem on Saturday so I just drove around looking without any chance of stopping to snap the buggers!!!

I've never seen one of these before. What are they? I'm guessing Nash; looks like a Metropolitan at the front. Quite like the shape anyway, nice and clean - reminds me of the Rover P5 which is my fave of evah. I'll take the white one, please.

The brown one was fitted with a low-rider kit/full hydraulics - didn't look particularly standard underneath at all. It looks quite decent in the pics but it wasn't that wonderful up close and personal.

 

The white one was in nice original condition.

 

I should really get back to posting shite again I suppose - too many nice looking old cars over this way I suppose though...
